Suddenly Snowsan
Good goat times today. But bonechilling cold. Well, freezing at least. Not a fun morning walk. Slipping and sliding around on icy pavement. Stacked in two blouses and a sweater, gloves and skullcap and scarf. Sigh. It is difficult for me. I cannot cope with the cold. Just gotta power through the next 3 months…
At least we got some sunshine today, that was nice. And being with the goats is always good of course. They did some running and headbutting, maybe to stay warm. Luna did a funny spontaneous jumping pirouette and ran down the hill, made me laugh. The feathers were out too, and for the first time I saw them walking around all together like one big flock. All six of them. Usually Red Sonja and Henrietta Solo would be off on their own. I don’t know if the cold had something to do with them all sticking closer together. Maybe they are just getting used to eachother now.
Jeanette was unfortunately out sick today. So we missed her. Andrea, the new leader, came out at some point to check on the animals. I’m glad she does that. She asked me if I drank coffee. Unfortunately not. Hot coffee would probably be helpful on a day like this. I gotta dig out my chemical handwarmers from seasons past and see if there’s any juice left in the ones I have left. But it doesn’t matter how much I bundle up and accessorize, it’s just tough for me to be out in freezing weather. And then I come home compltely wrecked, my back in so much pain. Ugh. There’s a part of me that wants to stay home until spring. But I need my goat therapy of course. And it wouldn’t be fair to the goats to stay away. I’m missing more days than I’d like, I wish I could be there every day. One day a day. And one pot of soup at a time.

Haha. Nah, Bella just got up on the chair because I happened to place it next to a tree and she was using it to reach high bark. I guess this must have been Bella and Luna’s first snow ever. Although there’s not really enough of it to really be that much of an experience. Hopefully it’ll still be a while before they experience full snow cover and heave snowfall.

Good goat times today. Managed to drag myself out. I wasn’t sure I would. I felt pretty broked after Monday, in pain and not dealing so well with the cold. I kinda told myself that I might have to take the rest of the week off. But some back exercises the last couple of days helped a bit. And of course the thought of staying away from the goats is never good. I also got some motivation from teh weather forecast which promised that today would be a real snow day. I cannot stand the cold, but I still love snow, specifically being with goats in teh snow. So I kicked myself out the door. Almost regretted it. Yeah it was a snow day alright. Everything covered and still coming down pretty hard. Lots of traffic problems in the region. The snow is less slippery than the icy pavement. But it makes it very hard for me to judge if the ground is even, where the curb is etc. I have to walk carefully. Dark, cold and snowing. Wasn’t a fun walk. But I got to the goats, and that’s what matters. And we had a nice snow day together. Of course the goats weren’t too thrilled with the snow. They refused to come out for a long time. I can’t blame them. So we stayed in. Luna had several turns where she was standing in the doorway, looking out at the snow. Occasionally letting out loud disgruntled bleats like she was cursing the snow. Her voice is so fun, still got a bit of a bratty baby quality. She can sound quite manic.
Later on the snowfall quieted down somewhat. And we did actually go out in the snow. It started when Jeanette cam with a bucket of fresh water to replace the bucket of frozen water outside the goat house. Yes, Jeanette was back after being sick. Actually she was still sick, I could tell. But I was happy she was there, I know the goats get the proper care when she’s there even in this kind of weather. Anyway, she dropped off the bucket. And after some careful consideration, Bella took a few steps outside to drink from it. And then it was like she realised the snow wasn’t THAT bad. Of course it helped that it wasn’t coming down as much at that pount. But she was the one happiest to go out in the snow. Luna followed a bit afterwards. Sky did not come out until I went out and was giving the kids treats outside. Then she begrudgingly came out to get treats too. She was the first one to go in as well, of course. Haha. But we had several trips out in the snow. Always Bella first, Sky last. Had a bit of a snowrun with the kids too. It was quite lovely. It was nice to be there for Bella and Luna’s first real full snow day. Nice to be there with them. Now I just have to find a way to defrost. Fifteen minutes in a hot shower followed by soup. I hope that will do it.

So I watched the trailer for the new Fallout show. And I heard a familiar voice. Michael Emerson is in it? Sold! I hope he’s the good guys. Kyle MacLachlan too. So we got Lost and Twin Peaks DNA. The trailer looks good to me. I never got to play the Fallout games. I had the original two ready and was planning to play them when.. things got in the way. And when the modern ones started coming out my eyesight was stopping me from playing. But I’ve watched youtubes and read stuff and I feel like Fallout is part of my interests. I hope the show will be good.
Sorry if I’m a bit abbsentee right now. Mental and physical health has been better, editing lots of snow footage, found old cicles on discord. Distractions. Watching CoffeeZilla on youtube. I love seeing cryptobros and scammers and NFTs being ridiculed and revealed.
