Well, well, well, well. Good goat times today. And good HUMAN times. Yes, as some of you are aware, today was a big day at the goat grounds. We had a visitor from Australia.
The lovely @Lisa Edwards came to visit! Eight years after visiting us the last time. A visit every eight years is about what I can cope with! But things sure are different now. Different goats. Different place. Less Lasse. But Lisa is still lovely, and it was good to see her again. It is a very rare occasion that I meet people from Facebook. But it is lovely when people want to see the goats.
It was a lightly rainy morning but then the sun came out and we had some really weather for a while, summery for Denmark. Not much by Australian standards of course.
And later on came the rain. Hard rain. I think Lisa wished she’d brought an umbrella, it was raining and thundering when she left.
She got to meet Jeanette too. That was lovely. Jeanette took Lisa down to the bunny house, so she could meet our bunnies. That’s not my domain, so i stayed with the goats.
And Lisa got to hang out with the furs and the feathers. First a good long time with Bella and Luna. They really enjoyed being scratched. Lisa has the nails for the job!
And later I preoccupied the big girls so Lisa could have time with Sky. I really miss being able to be just one group. Sigh. Lisa got to see Sky having a bit of a rough time when it started raining too. Bella and Luna chasing her out.
We did our best to make sure Sky could be inside with us as the rain came down.
Really nice to spend time with a good Facebook friend. I was of course extremely awkward, I can’t really socialize properly with humans. I was mostly just answering questions. But I did my best, and knowing that Lisa knew my deal and had met me before took the worst pressure off. Hey, it’s her own fault if she wants to come back, I told myself!
And it is nice. It’s not often you get visitors from Australia. Hope we didn’t disappoint. Wish Mia had been here for a reunion..
Now Lisa’s off to see Joan, one of my oldest, possibly the oldest, internet friend I am still in touch with and one of the best people I know, with a wonderful family. I am sure Lisa will get much better human interaction there, but probably less goat cuddles.
See you when you come back, Lisa!
I will have some pictures later, and when it gets done there will be some video on the goat page eventually.
Good times. Now, soup.

Two great ladies! Jeanette meeting Lisa. I told Jeanette in the moring that we’d be getting a visitor from Australia, which naturally surprised and amused her.

Luna coming out to say hello to Lisa. She was standing inside bleating for a while. Luna, i mean. Not Lisa. I think Luna was a little unsure about the visitor, also the light rain and wet ground. But once those good scratching nails went to work, it was all good.

Bella getting loving from Lisa. “Queen B” she was dubbed. She loved Lisa’s nails scratching.

Sky’s turn to get some loving from our visitor. You know Sky loves being scratched. Bottom right you have Bella entering the frame and showing her disdain for other goats getting attention.

Getting ready to head to bed soon. It’s been a big day for me. And I didn’t get enough sleep last night.
Not because I was worrying about Lisa’s visit. No, I had toilet problems. No not tummy ones. Plumber ones. I was getting ready to go to sleep last night, and as I pressed the flusher on the toilet, it wouldn’t press down, it didn’t flush properly. I was immediately in panic mode. Oh no. Is this like an emergency where I need to call the out-of-hours phone line for my housing association? Should I wait till tomorrow and call the super? Is my toilet broken? Are gallons of water just flushing through. Am i going to have to stay home etomorrow to wait for the super? Imagine how lame that would have sounded. “Sorry I can’t go to the difficult human meeting because my toilet broke”. Well, my first instinct was putting toilet cleaner in the toilet and cleaning it. Mostly i think because it was pretty grimy and needed cleaning and if I had to call the super it would be kind of embarrasing. I don’t know if there was some blockage or the flusher buttong was jammed or it was a fluke or whatever, I don’t know if what I did had any effect or it was just random. But I tried again 5 minutes later and now it flushed. I thought i heard a drip, a single periodic drip, in it, so I monitored it for a bit, did some more cleaning. And it seemed to be back to normal.
So I got to bed later than planned and was pretty worked up so it took a while to get anysleep.
Toilet seems to be fine now, but I guess i should be prepared that something could happen again. Because everything just keeps going great. At least the package I was waiting for arrived, and not too long after I got home from the succesful visit from Lisa. So that was something at least.
And now I’m on the internet writing about my toilet. Living the jetset life, no wonder people hanging on to my every word. Wait are you solving crosswords on your phone? Are you even listening to me? We’re going to have a serious talk about our relationship, mister! No YOU’RE HIGH STRUNG. That’s it, you’re sleeping on the couch tonight.
Please remember to leave a review for my one-man performance of the full cast version of Not Going In Sane Tonight.
End of post.

Got an hour forty on the bike today. Legs felt good. Arms felt good. Not sure if I’ve done something different, but my muscles felt stronger than usual, so that was nice. I should probably get better at dosing the workouts so i don’t overwork my muscles. But I’m doing my best.
Aftewards I continued the apartment cleaning. Working on the bookshelves. Got 3 sacks of Dvds ready to go. Unfortunately DVDs are next to worthless these days, as far as I can see even charity shops don’t want them anymore. I have some great stuff, I wouldn’t rule out the idea that I could make a little money selling it. But the amount would not make up for the effort and the dealing with people and stuff. So, I’m going to haul it downstairs to the pickup point and if someone wants old DVDs it will be their lucky day, otherwise it will be hauled to trash.
It’s a bummer thoughl. So much great stuff. Complete collections of all the old Star Trek shows. Complete series of Buffy and Angel. Complete Friends. A beautiful complete Seinfeld box that has a big book thing included. All the old seasons of the simpsons. Futurama. South Park. Alien movies set. Star Wars movies. Monty Python. Red Dwarf. That 70s Show. Scrubs. Bunch of classic Dr Who. Lots of single movies. Complete series of Bottom. Casper & Mandril Aftalen. Black Adder. And much more. A lot of it still in original shrinkwrap because I bought it and put it on the shelf and didn’t get to it before I switched to digital. I have most of all this stuff as digital files on my hard drives, so it’s not like i’m losing a lot of content really. But so much money spent on this. And some beautiful sets among it too. And so much history.
Got through some old books too. My old Ultima books. That’s painful. I really want to read those, and you cannot get that as audio. The old cluebooks to the games were full of story and lore. And books about the history of the games and the making of them and the company behind them. I should have read all that before I lost my sight..
And my old Star Wars guidbook. One of my oldest Star Wars keepsakes. It’s like an encyclopedia and I used to just read through the entries and marvel at the planets and alien species and characters. Much of the info sourced from books or other stuff that I hadn’t read yet, so it was full of magic to me.
Okay, I’ll cut the nostalgia ramble there.
As I said, three sacks of DVDs to carry down. And that’s only about a third of the stuff on the shelves. So it will still take time to get through it all. Sort through it to make sure there’s nothing I want to keep. That big complete special edition Lost box.. it’s so beautiful. I have all the episodes on my computer.. but I don’t know if I have the heart to throw that out. That’s one thing that could be worth a little money. But then on the other hand since no one uses DVD anymore, maybe not.
Sigh.
Maybe I should have asked Lisa if she wanted the Gollum figure from the lotr se box when she was there.

Here’s Sky yesterday, sheltered from the rain. I pulled the sliding door out a little to give more cover.
I’m editing footage from Lisa’s visit right now, and it’s sad to see Sky being chased out in the rain. But of course you can’t help rooting for her and being happy when she gets inside. And i know it’s less complicated when I’m not there, then things are more relaxed. But still. i wish she had it easier. i do my best to give her as much happy time as possible.

I mentioned that one of the things I found in the old mystery boxes during cleaning was the flyer from the store where I bought my first PC back in the 90s.
I thought maybe I’d take a photo of it, just for fun. So you can see how computers were sold in 1994 in Denmark.
But then I did a search on the reddit, and it turns out someone had uploaded the exact flyer on r/Denmark. This is it. The very one I found in the box. Look at those price bombs! Haha.
Huge nostalgia from that flyer.
So I know the PC I got was the 486 DX2 50mhz.
Listed at 9,995 Danish kroners. According to an online inflation calculator that would be almost 18,000 kroners today. Which is 2800 usd. I have no idea how I afforded that back. Did I pay for it myself? Honestly, I don’t remember. Did my parents buy it for me? Did they pay some of it. It’s not like we were a rich family, it seems like a pretty expensive purchase. I was 15-16.
But hey. I sure am glad I got it. That 486 goodness. Playing Doom in fullscreen, something my other PC owning friends could only dream of.
Warehouse Data. i believe they went bankrupt in the early 2000s.

Well, I tried something new today.
Fried balls.
Okay, fried flourballs.
Recently a couple of times I have seen mentions of fried dumplings. And it intrigued me. Now I know my flourballs aren’t exactly the same as the American dumplings, and I think the fried dumplings thing is a dish that includes other stuff, like meat or vegetables or other things. But it got in my head and I wanted to try to fry up some flourballs.
So I did. I just boiled some flourballs and then fried them in coconut oil.
That was. Alright. Interesting. Definitely needs more stuff to be an actual meal. And I’m sure it’s not too healthy. But fun to try. I think I’ll stick to flourballs in my soup.

Good goat times today. A lovely warm day with lots of sunshine. No Australians hanging around, but lots of kids in the pen. Pancakes cooking on the campfire. Lots of cuddles for the goats. Beren came and got her happy goat time. Just a lovely simple summery goat day. Feels good.
Now it’s time to cook up some soup and enjoy that. I will.

Thank you to Lisa for the new hat! Represeting Australia. Maybe I should solicit hats from all over the world and wear a new hat every day, like the guy from 30 Rock. But ah, I love my Twin Peaks hat too much for that. But I do have a nice little collection already.

Got a Protein & Pepsi delivery today. With added electrolytes. i try to drink enough water, but information pointed to maybe it being benificial to have added electrolytes. I do believe electrolytes are minichips that Microsoft use to control your body, and adding them to your water will turn you into Ironman. Look, I did my own research so don’t come at me.
Anyway, I got electrolytical tablets. I’ll see if i feel like they do any me any good. I take so many vitamins and supplements and things, I need to buy a second cupboard just to store them. But hey, physically I’m probably healthier now than I have been most of my life. Not that that’s saying a lot. I may just be the chicken who’s had its head cut off but hasn’t realised it yet. Who knows.

Update about my dad. Turns out he’s not having the bypass operation, he’s getting a pacemaker. I can’t quite figure out if that’s a change of plans or if that was always the plan and we just had a miscommunication.
But that’s where we are. He’s having it done Thuersday next week.
I am not sure how to feel about it. Getting a pacemaker put in seems like a safer and less invasive operation. But the things you all were saying with experiences of bypasses had me sort of hoping for some real improvements to my dad’s health from it. And I don’t think a pacemaker would give so much. It’s more for safety and to prevent bad heart things happened? Which is obviously the most important thing, I want him to be safe and healthy. I was hoping for him to get stronger too, though.
But we’ll see. I just want him to get the procedure done without problems and then hopefully he will have a better functioning heart. No complications, please. I believe he’ll be coming home the same day.
So send him all the good vibes on Thursday.

Thank you everyone again, for all the kindness and support. Hopefully the pacemaker will be a good thing. Certainly let’s scary than bypass. Here’s to hoping for good results. And may good thing happen to all of you and your loved ones. My family owes you all a berryfall of glittersnow and rainbowfarts. May the wind always be in your back, so the rainbowfarts stay with you.
Love you loves.

Another hour fortyfive under the bike belt. Wasn’t feeling too great this morning, legs kind of week. I got a doc appointment soon so I’m going to get some blood pressure readings before hand. My blood pressure was too high this morning. It’s been a long time since i measured it last time, and then it was perfect. So that kind of sucks.
Measured it after exercising and it was back to good. So hopefully I just had a bad night or something.
And then some more apartment cleaning. Organising the stuff on the book shelves to get ready to haul it off. A steady stream of “aww”s as I uncovered more old stuff that I hate to get rid of, that I had big plans for, that I wasted money on. My Don Rosa Hall of Fame books. The huge Complete Calvin & Hobbes set. The old Ultima games. A Storm trooper action figure still in in the back. I bought that on amazon ages ago to try to recapture some slight slice of childhood nostalgia. Still can’t believe I sold my whole Star Wars action figure collection for 300 kroners. Even with inflation that’s next to nothing.
Anyway. So much great stuff that’s now obsolete. But I’ll be happy to shed the weight. It’s nice to see the shelves little by little getting emptier. When my move is forced through, I hope to get rid of some of my furniture to. I honestly don’t really want those bookshelves anymore. But we’ll see how that works out. I just want a simple space with as little clutter aspossible. Long way to go still.
Thankfully a short way to soup pot, so I’ll brave that journey now.

I can’t believe June is almost over. I just wanted a happy, simple, sunny summer. That’s not exactly how it’s gone, or will go. Too many worries with family and living situation, and then the complications of the goat hierarchy. I just wanted to sit in the sunshine with the goats and not have to worry.
Ah well. Life what happens while you’re busy counting goat berries.
I sure am tired though. Of the world and of everything. I just want to be a goat hermit.

I love this video. Sif was such a sweet dog.
Unfortunately I lost touch with Bodil during all the commotion and upeaval of moving away from the playground. That’s a big regret. I tried looking her up a while ago, but didn’t find anything useful. And she was an elderly lady already here, 15ish years ago. I would like to think she’s still okay, but realistically I don’t know what the chances of that are. Hope she’s okay if she’s still out there, she was a good friend, one of the first and few in real life I found through the goats.
And I love seeing the baby goaties carefully investigating the strange new creature.

No reply from the rehousing consultant yet. Slightly worried. When I sent that application for glasse to Jeanette to print, she told me that the mail had gone to her spam folder. I’m worried my mail to the consultant could have gone in her spam. Or maybe she’s on vacation, or maybe just busy. Or maybe she doesn’t keep up with mail. Well. I will give it a few more days. Then I guess i will try resending it from another email account. And if I don’t get anything back then I’ll have to try calling. I would really prefer not making the initial contact over the phone. I would really prefer that she could read about special situation first, because i’m not good on the phone.
But we’ll see. See see, come see come saw.
Extremely loud hiphop music and people cheeering and blowing whistles right outside my apartment right now. It’s been noisy all day in the neighbourhbood. i think I read today is a Somali national day or something? We do have a lot of refugees and immigrants in my neighbourhood, maybe it is connected to that. Sounds like they back their loudspeakers right up against my window just now. But hey, at least the dozing bulls are sleeping. Let them lie.
Icy Pepsi will chill me.
