Three Roses By Any Other Names

Not so much to say today. Just a ton of goat kid pictures.

First of all, formal introductions. Because Magnethe’s threesome has been named. I, unfortunately, didn’t get to do it. I really did like Marzipan, but oh well. A South African theme was used. I’m not sure why. But here goes.

goat kids
The girl. She is called Natal. Which is a place in South Africa.

And this little boy is called Springbok. That is also a place in South Africa. In Danish it is pronounced the same way as springbuk, which is a goat race. He looks a lot like Nougat, but you can tell them apart by the fact that Springbok has that white spot on the belly. And his face is darker. And of course he’s a little smaller too.

And finally the little brownie. Pernille told me that they were going to name him Transvaal, but then they decided it didn’t fit. So they named him Mandela instead.

I wouldn’t mind swapping Springbok for Marzipan, but all in all I have no complaints. And now on to more pictures.

goat kids

Mathilde’s three. They have learned that they are small enough to escape through a little hole in the bushes next to the fence. The great escape.

Springbok being loved.

goat kids

Hehe, it looks like Mandela is all head and no body!

goat kids

Here is his body too.

goat kids

Hmm mislabeled this picture. That’s 3B and not Natal. All these kids, it’s quite confusing.

goat kids

That’s Springbok for sure though. Sleeping.

goat kids

And then joining the others for more sleep.

goat kids

3B. Almost sounds like one of the droids from Star Wars, donnit?

goat kids

Natal being carried off. That boy is really nice. Today he greeted me with a “finally you’re here”. Sweet.

goat kids

Everyone is overjoyed.

goat kids

The cup runneth over with happiness.

Mads

Mads being jealous. He craves attention.

Mads

But I do give him my attention. He is still my favourite goat. And to reassure him I gave his nose a good scratching.

goat kids

Mandela chewing on his mother’s ear. She didn’t seem to mind at all. Didn’t seem to notice actually.

goat kids

Checking out a bucket of water. They’re so small that they couldn’t reach their heads down to the water though.

goat kids

Big and small. Everyone loves the kids.

goat kids

She does look a little like a cuddly toy, doesn’t she?

goat kids

Magnethe looks for the on/off button.

goat kids

Haven’t seen Kurt for a while, but Per is taking care of business. I still don’t really know who exactly does what and owns what and so on and so forth. There is Kurt and Per and Pernille and Alice. And right now there’s a guy called Michael. I heard that he was going to work there for 3 months. Some kind of internship I guess.

goat kids

That’s Pernille. And the girl on the left, holding 3B, is Shermin. One of the regulars.

goat kids

Let’s count… 1…2…3…4…5…6. Six goat kids! Magnethe can barely believe her eyes. I could paint one of them white with red stripes and play Where’s Waldo.

goat kids

Springbok, with the white spot on the belly.

goat kids

Vanilje checking out my camera.

goat kids

Magnethe and her kids out and about.

goat kids

Mathilde and her kids out and about.

goat kids

Nougat doing some rock climbing.¨

goat kids

Springbok, not springing much.

goat kids

3B. I love him and his nibbling.

goat kids

Aand once again, six kids. Count them if you don’t believe me.

goat kids

And there you go again. Six kids. Resting after a long day of playing and sleeping.

Phew. I am feeling good. Is it any wonder?

PS. Check out theeses:
Raveonette demos. Scroll down to yousendit links. They are really nice. Also someone posted links to Danish music videos on Youtube. What a concept. You should definitely check those out.

That’s all.

Natal and 3B are so cute. Hey, there will be more baby goats, maybe there will be a “Marzipan” in the next bunch. There really is a wide variety of people who come to visit the playground. Glad to see Mads is getting some attention, too.

Is the playground free or is there an entry fee? How do they make money to feed all the animals? Inquiring minds want to know. We have small petting zoos that set up during county fairs or public events. But they’re not in the same place all the time. Was just curious how this was done in Denmark?
