Day three of updating from work. No news about my internet. Tomorrow is a holiday. I would say it’s extremely unlikely that I’ll have it working before Friday. At the earliest. I would be semi okay with that if it wasn’t for the Lost finale. That show has me hooked like so much heroin and I can’t stand the thought of not being able to watch the finale. And yet. Life, it goes on.

Funnily enough this week has been one of the best at work in a long time. Tiredness-wise. I haven’t been to tired. I have gotten up when I’m supposed to, I haven’t been overly exhausted at work. One might theorize that this is due to my brain thinking “There is internet at work. Go to work”. But that would be a silly assumption.

Thank you all for the comments. They help my mood. The playground does too. Yesterday I had a goat walking on my back. Literally. I was sitting on a rock. And I leaned forward to scratch Mads’s ears. And then Vanilje jumped up on my back. All four legs planted there. She started moving around and chewing at my hair. I could see Per and Kurt, working on a fence a distance away, looking up at me and smiling. It must have been quite a sight. A little goat kid jumping around on my back. I took some pictures, but it’s quite hard to take pictures when you’re leaning over and you have a goat on your back. That’s advanced photography, that is. I will show you the result when my router has risen from the grave. She must have liked the spot too, Vanilje. She jumped up there a couple of times. Plume’s brand line of furniture.

Since I won’t be at work tomorrow and I probably won’t have internet either I guess I might as well share the good news I got, before I forget about it. I was given the key to the playground. Yup. I can now go up there at any time, any day, any hour. I am very happy about it. Thrilled. Honoured even. They don’t just give out the key to everybody. I think they only give it to people who work there or people like Jannie, who come there and feed the animals when the playground is closed. I was given the key because they like me and they trust me. That is beautiful, to me. It happened on Friday. And I put the key to good use on Saturday. Usually Jannie goes to feed the animals around 10-10.30. She wasn’t there though. So I locked myself in and spent a good hour with the goats. And then I locked up and went home. Without the key it would have been a wasted trip and I wouldn’t have gotten to see the goats at all.

Now I can go see them whenever I want. If I’m late coming home from work. If it’s a holiday. If it’s weekend. If it’s 3 am and I’m feeling like hurting myself. Any time.

It’s not like I will be using the key that much. Weekends mostly. But I’ll still try to go when Jannie and her parents are there to feed the animals, that’s the nicest time. It’s just nice to know that I can go when I want. And furthermore the key is like a symbol, a representation of the respect and trust that I get at the playground. It may not count for a huge amount in the “real” world, it may not make me a normal functioning person yet. But I am liked. That’s a lesson that I need to hammer home often and plenty. The key is like a physical reminder of that.

You will all bow down to the key. Praise be the key.

Alritey. Back to work. I’m making our gift certificate. So if you ever get a gift certificate for a meal at Kulturgyngen then know that I am the one who designed it. That only adds to its value, does it not?

Hurrah for Mr. Plume!!! I wish I had a key to hapiness like you do. How very cool. I hope it always makes you smile. :)

  2. Deb Says:

Oh, am I jealous. I’ve never gotten a key like that. A car key, a house key, but never a playground key. That is so cool! And it is a big deal. Congrats! I’m sure the goats are thinking, now we can see Plume anytime, yaaaay!

Your English is very good. When did you learn it? Do you speak/write English at work and home or is it mostly Danish? I haven’t noticed any accent in your blogs. (ha, ha)

And it’s great that this no internet thing is just annoying and irratating – but NOT the end of the world. You are making progress. I did see your mantra – Life, it goes on- as the motto of one of our high school graduating classes of 2006. I’d never heard of it till you mentioned it. Small world.

Have a good holiday. It is our “Memorial Day Weekend” this weekend. Plan to go to a craft/flea market show sometime and just have some fun.

Well, the bittorrent file should be posted sometime tonight (Wednesday night is tonight for me – it might be Thursday for you). I can definitely send you the torrent. Is that ok?

  4. Katherine Says:

PS CONGRATULATIONS ON THE KEY! That’s very cool.

P.S. If worse comes to worse, that is, you don’t get your connection restored for awhile, I can always burn high definition avi files to a dvd and send it snailmail. Let me know if you can watch avi files on your computer. I’ll have two files that make up the full season finale.

That is so cool that they gave you a key, I’m really happy for you!

  7. Milla Says:

Hey, I think I can see a connection between Vanilje walking on your back and the way you don’t feel tired at work. It’s like a great massage that restores your strength and energy :)
Yes, congratulations on the key, so very happy for you! Like Valja said, it’s a key to happiness. YOU are the winner of the playground, you are, you are, you are, you are!!! (yep, the theme of Lithuania’s eurovision song does not leave my head, sorry, hehe)

    Goodnight mr designer :)

Valja – It makes me smile big time :)))

Deb – I guess I picked up some English from TV. I remember when we started having English classes in school I already knew a lot. But I think generally a lot of Danish people are good at English. I have always liked languages. French and English were my best subjects.
I only speak Danish though. I mean, not that I can’t speak English. I just don’t have anyone to speak English to.

Hey, I thought I came up with “Life, it goes on”! Maybe I can sue. Nah, share the wealth. Hope you had a good time at the flea market!

Katherine – I can’t use torrents at work I’m afraid. But hopefully my internet will be working again later today… Thanks for trying to help though!

    Belinda – Thank you!

Milla – Hehe, I like that idea. Maybe I could make a career out of being a goat massagist. It would be a good excuse to work with goats anyway!
So what’dya think of the Finnish entry? Hehe.

  10. Milla Says:

Well, I just went ‘Good Lordi!!!’ when I saw them win. Heh.

  11. Plume Says:

    hehe :)
