Raisin d’Etre

Today I come bearing gifts in the form of youtubed videos.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jtrFmwkigI. The promised goodbye video of Kulle. I will miss that little guy. There’s also a bit of Kridte and their mother in the video, and some bulldozers groaning and goats baahing in the background.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwVviDxPflc. A Kridte video. With lots of loud baahing. It almost looks like she is searching for Kulle, doesn’t it? Although this video was made 5 days after Kulle left, so she had had some time to get used to it. But still, don’t it just break your heart? I tried consoling her with a raisin, she loves those.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqG5xTXHt7I. A video of Magnethe examining my camera, getting right up to the lens and almost biting it off.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9f8geb6RbIg. A similar video, but this time it is Mads who checks out my camera to see if it is edible. So if you want to see Mads and Magnethe REALLY up close then these videos are for you.

And that’s all for today. Party on, party people.

Dudemoney, you gotta get two things. The sidebar widget thing, and the mybloglog faces. The faces are fun I tell you. Fun. Anyways you youtube hoe, I lurve yew.

  2. Deb Says:

Kridte must be having a delayed reaction to her brother leaving. She does sound sad. Especially at the end when she’s off camera, but you can still hear her baaaing.

Magnethe and Mads “up close and personal” was really funny. I was just laughing so much it made our parrot start laughing along with me. So everyone was laughing at our house.

I couldn’t watch Kulle in the video. It makes me sad to think that he’s actually gone. In the animal kingdom, it’s the males who get the fuzzy end of the lollipop. There are exceptions like lions and bears, animals like that. But when you look at the over all picture males don’t do much than procreate and eat. Come to think of it human males do much of the same thing beside start wars and scratch themselves. Maybe that’s why I want big, black fat women to rule the planet. It’ll be more fun and you get to say “girl” and “sista” a lot.

I’d pay good money to see a laughing parrot. A friend years ago said to me once that he had a smiling cat, and that he’d bring the cat by my place and show me.

Unfortunately, it never happened. He found his cat under a Jeep Wagoneer. Ironically, it wasn’t smiling.

After that, my friend never mentioned his smiling cat anymore.

Luis, I think Lasse said Kulle was gone as in “went to live at another playground”. Cause I think Lasse said he would have to visit him sometime. Does that make it any easier for you to think of him now? I hope so.

Our parrot will laugh for free! I wouldn’t make you pay any amount of money to hear him laugh. Now I might make Lasse pay me in apples and raisins and flour balls (dumplings!).

Our cats smile and so do the goats! We’re all just happy, happy folk here in snowy, snowy, Iowa! Not like in Denmark where there’s NO snow, ha, ha, Lasse!

  5. Luis Says:

You are absolutely right. I remember watching ‘America’s Funniest Home Videos’ and there was a gray parrot that actually laughed. That was so cool. Wow! I can’t believe you have one. As for Kulle, it just makes me sad when they have to go away even to another farm. I knowthey’ll be happy. But when Plume gets sad I get sad too.

My old dog, Max, used to smile a lot, too. Even after 15 years I still miss him. We used to play ‘mink stole’ and I’d used him as a mink stole over my shoulder.

  6. Deb Says:

Awwww, Luis – you old softy! You sound like you’d give some poor little homeless shelter dog a good home. It’s hard when a beloved pet dies (and yours sure sound loved), but then I think of how much joy they bring to us.

Two of our birds had previous homes/owners, but I told them our home would be their permanent home forever and they wouldn’t have to live with someone else. So, even when my canary (14 years old) died and I missed his beautiful singing, I feel like we’re giving other birds a chance for a good life.

Plume’s sad when the animals leave, but he has the videos to keep their memories alive. Plume, don’t you smile when you see the videos? Maybe a bittersweet smile, sometimes. . . but they do make me smile.

IMO Plume wants us to appreciate sweet-faced lambs and to smile and laugh because lambs grow up and life changes so quickly. It’s good to be reminded to look for and appreciate the good things in life as they really are fleeting.

  7. Plume Says:

    Am I interrupting something? :-P

Kat – I youtoobe good! woohoootube. I don’t know what those other things you talk about are. Gibberish I say.

Deb – Hehe. A laughing parrot. And a laughing Deb. it sounds jolly!
If you’re not careful I might just end up MOVING to Iowa! That’ll teach you and your fancy snow! I will bring apples and raisins of course. And flour. Then we can make our own flour balls!
I do smile when I watch my videos. A lot. Although I still have a hard time with 3B and Springbok. I can’t bring myself to watch videos of them yet. But yes, I am still happy that I get to know all these sweet creatures. Without them my life would have been empty.

Luis – You go girl. Heh. I hope Kulle is happy in his new home. He’s going to be a big stud there. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s just lounging around, being waited on and spoiled rotten. And at least I will be able to go see him. So it’s not all bad.
Maybe I should get a parrot. I could have it on my shoulder. Not like a mink stole, but like a pirate parrot. Someone to talk to. Squawk.
Animals are something special eh. The source of so many emotions.

  8. Deb Says:

Silly Plumey! You’re not interrupting something, you’ve started something called “conversation” with the humans. That’s what you’ve started silly boy! Social phobic, my a**, you’re good at this! Go Plume!

  9. Plume Says:

Deb – “Conversation” eh? I think I’ve heard of that! I always thought it was some kind of faerytale, like a house made of candy or peace in the world or spam-free internet!
