Gossamer, Geeselings And Goats
So yesterday I was checking for the geeselings.
Hmm. Where are they? You probably have to look at the fullsize picture to see them. Hiding under their mother’s wings. How cute.
Funny to see its little head popping up there. Yes, I am rather sweet on the geeselings. They are small and fluffy and colourful. What’s not to love about that? And yes, I have decided to keep calling them geeselings. I like my little idiosynchronies. Like baahing. Yes.
Today the geeselings went outside for the first time.
Following their parents around eagerly.
Sometimes one or two would drag behind and then they’d start running and batting their little wings to catch up. Too cute. Unfortunately I missed the swimming. Kurt told me about it. They had apparently loved the water and dived right in and had a lot of fun. Kurt was laughing while he told me about it.
They are rather lovely.
No doubt about it.
But I don’t want to make the goats jealous, so let’s have some piccies of them.
Some boys were giving them leaves. Vanilje is streeetching good there.
Mads found a nice place to rest his head. Maybe he’s trying to get a tan on his nose?
Magnethe all dolled up for the camera.
And Vanilje. One of my favourite things about goats is how they can stretch and bend and contort themselves. It’s excellent for scratching.
One of the piglets resting in the sun. Baking a mudcake of itself, almost. It’s been very hot. Thankfully less humid. Bright sunshine. The papers say we’re going to have a record summer. Record temperatures, not record lollipop eating or water balloon throwing. Although one thing may lead to another.
And lambs. See how big the boys are? Giant lambs.
Wonderful animals all around.
Hmm, I feel something stirring in my jaw. It better not start hurting again. Fingers crossed.
I have put the Smashing Pumpkins comeback shows on my MP3 player. Am much enjoying walking around with them in my ears. I am totally in awe of the new song Gossamer. 20+ minutes. I always were a sucker for the long, epic, sweeping songs. And Gossamer fits the bill. Epic and rocking and then slowing down with soft emotional interludes. Perfect Pumpkins.
Other than that, it’s now weekend. And TMU is closed Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday is my day off. So I’m going to go hibernate for 5 days. Plume McBear. I do have something more serious I want to write about, but we’ll see if I get it done. I might just post a billion animal pictures instead. You never know.

I want one of those wheeled things in your picture with the geesers. That looks like fun. Do they have them for adults?
Baby geesers under Mother Goose’s wings are sooooo cute!
I forgot an animal I saw yesterday. It was a momma opposum with little baby ‘possums riding on her back. When I first saw her, I thought: “My that’s a BIG opposum and sort of lumpy, too.” Then I saw the babies. ‘Possums aren’t usually my favorite animal, but baby ‘possums . . . awwwwww.
Only a “billion” animal pictures???? You’re slipping, my dear danish goat boy!

Our Neighbour, Edmund the Butcher, has chickens and ducks – their pen is right next to our drive. One of the hens have just been laying on 20 eggs – guess how many chickens came? ONE – one lonely little chick. Tiny as a 10-krone. Then the ducks were laying on eggs. Between the two ducks they had 19 ducklings! They’re already quite big. They grow so fast, little ones;) So, so cute. I’ve got pictures – I’ll let you know when I get around to uploading them. The goslings are super cute as well. I’m glad we haven’t got any of those, though. I’m a little scared of them – not the goslings – their mummy and daddy.

Debster – Those are called moon cars. And that’s not a translation, that’s what we call them. I’m not sure if they have ever been on the moon though. They don’t have them or adults, but I know some adults who use them anyway. I have seen Per on several occasions, speeding past in one!
Baby ‘possums on their mother’s back. That reminds me of the pictures I’ll post tomorrow. You’ll never guess what they geeselings were doing. Or maybe you will…
I will strive to post as many pictures as possible!
Desiree – Edmund the butcher. That sounds like something out of a horror movie. But I’m sure he’s a nice, sweet butcher. There are little chicks at the playground right now too. Smaller than the geeselings. And with less scary parents. They can be rather intimidating the geese. If you watch the video I posted today of the geeselings then you’ll see that the recording ends when daddy goose thinks I have been filming long enough.
