The Little Plume Who Could
Sunday is almost over. Next week is almost here. And what a week it will be. What a week.
I hope it will all go well. Exciting and scared, those two words still apply.
Tomorrow I’ll head on over to the housinge organization headquarters. Give them the filled out nametag form. And ask when I can pick up the key. I don’t supposed I could be so lucky that they’d give me the key a day or two early? I mean the other guy must have moved out by now, so why not let me start moving in… yes, I think they should definitely give me the key tomorrow. Definitely. I’m gonna set my hopes up for that, yup.
The first thing to do before moving my stuff in is to do a “syn”. I’m not sure what that’s called in English. When you go over the place and check for problems. Cracks in the woodworks and all that. I have to fill in a form with any problems I might find. And then at a later date they have to come inspect it. Hmm, syn = inspection? Maybe. Anyway, that’s all standard procedure. And not very interesting. I don’t know why I’m writing about that. Stop writing about that, Plume. Stoppit!
Once I have synet the place I can start moving my stuff. My dad’s friend Oluf will help us out with his car. The most important thing is to get the bed in there. And then my computer. Bed, computer, TV, internet connection. What else do I possibly need?
Lots of stuff in boxes. But I’m not sure how much of it I really need. I get a storage room in the basement of the appartment block and I’ll probably put some of my old stuff down there. I have been packing so many boxes that my mother jokingly said “You only have ONE room in your appartment, right?”. Haha. Yes. Most of the boxes are pretty small though. But lots of stuff I don’t want to throw out but that I might not exactly need on a daily basis either. So the storage room is handy for that.
Once everything is set up and unpacked and I’m settling in then I’ll start looking for a cat. I must have a cat, most assuredly.
Just a couple of days now really. I hope I am ready. I hope I have everything in check. I hope I can do it. I think I can, I think I can.

So you have to do a “syn”. Not a “sin”? hee, hee Next you will be dancing around naked in your apartment and watching adult movies.
Sounds like you’ve got everything under control for your move. Isn’t amazing how much “stuff” we collect in our lives? Stuff you don’t want to throw away, but stuff you haven’t used in quite some time either.
Kitty cat looking will be fun. Take your time and the kitty will pick you, that’s how you’ll know you’ve got the right one. And remember Clare’s advice: Get a nice one! Not a biting/scratching one. Not a mountain lion either! hee, hee
You will do fine in your move. I have predicted it. And of course, I’m always right, Plumey! You know I am. (I’m modest, too.)

My mum adopted a cat from our summer house which some evil holiday makers had left behind. We call him Aslan. Well, my mum never got Aslan “fixed” and now he’s invited a very pregnant she cat to come live with him – likely he’s the father. Gracious, for sure, but my mum doesn’t want kittens and have already arranged for a guy to come and do the do once they are born. I understand the need to cull the unwanted kittens, but my heart bleeds. We can’t have a kitten due to dog and also I’m not allowed to deal with litter because I’m pregnant. And Adam doesn’t want a cat. But if you want a kitten, I shall keep one for you. You can even choose one yourself. If you want…

Debster – I’m no sinner! Not much, anyway. I am planning to burn all my clothes, I won’t need them now that I’m going to be naked 24/7!
I will definitely get a nice kitty. It’s right on my shopping list. “One Nice Kitty”. I crossed out the “One horrible kitty” because a nice one will be much nicer!
You are my own personal oracle, you are!
Clare – Your wish is my command!
Desiree – That is very sweet of you. You are always offering me things! Are you Santa in (very good) disguise? Anyway, I think I would prefer to get one from a shelter. As I understand it that way I know it has gotten all its shots and stuff like that. I’m a bit insecure about the whole thing. I think getting one from a shelter would ease my mind about it all. I wish I could rescue all the kittens in the world though.

Plumey, look up on the intraweb about “Caring for your New Kitten”. I’m sure there are websites out there for new kitten parents!

Debster – I have already read a book about it! And just before I get my kitty I’ll probably look at a book again. It will help me a bit, but I still feel insecure about it. I mean, it’s another LIFE that I will be taking responsibility for. That scares me. It’s a good thing I’m not having a baby hah!
