Visions You Will See
Another night and another day passed in my new appartment. I am starting to feel it. Feel at home. It is not as strange and unfamiliar anymore. Not as foreign. Although it will be damn nice when I get my furniture and my stuff falls into place. Right now it is a mess. But then, I am used to living in messes so it’s not big deal.
My second night here was a bit noisier. No big parties, but there were people outside. Talking, most of the night. Nothing too bad though. There’s just generally more noise here, kids playing, cars driving, doors slamming. I have always been a bit sensitive to noise, my mother joked that I’d never get any rest here. But surprisingly I am not bothered. They’re just natural noises of the neighbourhood and not really annoying me. So far at least.
I went for my first visit back home. I mean, back at my old home. Originally I was supposed to go watch the Brøndby game. But since I have megasuperchannelselection that was no longer necessary. I still went home though. had to pick up a coupla things and also fix up the old computer. Setup some stuff for my dad. So I went home and had a nice dinner. Stegt flæsk med persillesovs. Jimmi And René have not lived in vain. Sorry, none of you know what I’m talking about haha. Anyway, a nice dinner with my mother. My dad was away. Strange how I somehow feel closer to them now that I have moved out. The distance is good, I think. Seeing things in a new light and appreciating things that you previously took for granted. Or even resented.
I came back to the appartment and watched the game. Brøndby won 3-0. I needed that. I was about ready to quit football alltogether because it was not going well and it was getting me depressed. But maybe things are getting back on track for Brøndby too. I can hope. It’s only football, anyway.
I should be ready to post pictures soon. If I could just find my USB cable. Maybe I should have had more of a system when I packed. Everything is jumbled together, pots with socks and pans with shirts and spoons with cables and so on and so forth. But everything is somewhere, I am fairly sure of that.
Tomorrow my furniture will be delivered and then I can start unpacking for real, get everything in its right place. Light up the place with some proper lamps. Things will get back to fairly normal. Although there is a sort of cool vibe to sitting on a blanket on the floor in the light of a single table lamp with the night outside and the glare from the computer screen. It feels.. spartan? Like I have no possessions. Nothing to weight me down. Although I do have possessions of course. They’re just in boxes. Life is like a moving box, you never know what you’re gonna get.
That’s all for tonight. Hope all is well in your world as well.

Well, you seem to be doing just fine in your new place. That’s really great. Unpack your earplugs so you don’t hear the night noise! Sounds like you won’t be feeling alone in your new place. All kinds of new people to meet.
Glad to hear your team won. My husband follows the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and he’s always happier when they win.

It’s so good to hear that you are settling in fine at your new place. I so know what you mean about feeling closer to your parents now that you don’t live with them. Distance is a good thing.
Also, I am stressing out over my house warming gift because I got it based purely on the fact that is was cute, I have zero idea if you’ll even find it useful. But at least it will be cute.

Stegt flæsk – must be something like pork steaks if my Swedish is any good (it isn’t). Persillesovs – I want to say ‘parsley sauce’.
“pots with socks and pans with shirts” – I’m sure that could be the start of a great song.

Debster – I’m doing pretty well I should say. It’s sweet to be on my own. And I have found my earplugs so hopefully tonight I will sleep safe and sound.
Belinda – Thank you. I remember reading your lj about living on your own and stuff and wondering if I’d ever get to there. Time flies! Don’t worry about the housewarming gift. Just the fact that you have gotten me something makes me happy. And I happen to like cute, so I think the odds are good!
Stu – You’re a wiz with the languages, Stu. Pork steaks with parsley sauce sounds pretty acurate to me. It’s a classic Danish dish, I’m told.
Ima write rock’n’roll songs about my appartment!
Debster – mmm. I’m hungry now!
