Of Plume And The End Of Silmarillic Titles

Today was laundry day. And I managed to get through it without too much bother. Also without ruining any clothes. I guess I’m getting the hang of it. Now I just need to find a way to run into attractive single girls while in the laundry room. As I understand it, it’s the perfect way to meet girls. I’ll be married in no time.

Otherwise there is not much going on. A quiet life, no alarms and no surprises. Here are some leftover goat pitures:

buck

The buck. He actually managed to take a bit out of an apple. Maybe he is learning how to use his teeth after all.

magnethe

Magnethe in all her glory.

vanilje

And for some reason I imagine that Vanilje is dancing to Staying Alive in this picture. You weren’t there, so you can’t say I’m wrong!

Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive!

I think Mr. LongEars Buck must hang from his ears to make them longer. Look how much longer his ears are than Magnethe’s in the picture.

Wish us luck on Saturday night. Billy has been invited to a birthday party. Yes, our goat gets invited to parties (we don’t)! One of our painting clients (and friend of my husband) is having a surprise 80th birthday party.

His wife thought it would really make the party to have one of our goats come as her husband is a big Cubs baseball fan. The Cubs haven’t won the World Series since the original goat mascot was banned from the field and his owner had a curse put on the ball team. This was like 100 years ago.

The whole party is baseball oriented so Billy will be there symbolically to “break the curse” and let the Cubs win next year. Silly, but what can you say when your goat gets invited to a birthday party.

She asked what we “charged” for Billy’s appearance! We told her Billy works for peanuts and not to worry about a fee. (Now we know what we’ll do when climbing ladders and painting gets to be too much. Take the goats on the road and make paying appearances with them!)

You always thought I was kidding when I said they were special goats and would someday be in great demand. “Debster and her performing goats” tour the USA.

I have Frankie e-mailing a photo of himself and a little message to my fellow book club members to remind them of when our next meeting will be held. Now I just need to find something for John-Boy to be a spokes-goat for! He’s shy and doesn’t like to be around many people.

Debster – His ears are quite spectacular. I can pretty much wrap them all around his head, maybe even tie a little bow. Not that I would ever do such a thing, not at all. I wouldn’t ‘ear of it.
YOur goats are very talented. I bet they are in high demand. Maybe I can hire them some time. Do they perform plays, by any chance? If Cats is so popular, then why not Goats?

Erica – Wow, that’s a lot of goats in a tree! There’s no keeping a good goat down.
