Gorge And Guzzle, Feed And Feast
Guess who served up soup in his own appartment today? That’s right, famous British chef Jamie Oliver!
Actually, I made that up. He probably lives in a mansion, not an appartment. And he’d never serve something so quaint as chicken soup. Nope, the answer is: me! I served up soup in my own appartment. To myself. Mmm. Good stuff. Brought a pot of it home with me when I had dinner at the parents yesterday. It is a pleasure.
Also a pleasure: chocolate. And lots of it! Yesterday I woke up when someone rang my doorbell. I had had a really, bad night. Not sleeping much. So I thought to myself I thought “who could that be? Probably no one important. Sleep now more”. Then it rang again and I thought to myself I thought “hmm, maybe the mailman? If he has a package… oh well, by now he must be writing the package slip and I’ll just have to pick it up at the post office”. Then five minutes later the bell rang again. And I figured I’d better go answer it. Maybe the mailman had delivered mail to the rest of the block and then wanted to try my package one last time. And my theory was right. A package for me. From Belinda. Full of awesome Australian chocolate. Sweet, precious chocolate. I felt like Augustus Gloop, there for a moment. Thank you Belinda, you just keep on rocking!
Wait, there’s only one P in “apartment”? I always thought there were two. What a revolting development.
Today I spent a jolly good time with the goats. You’d think I’d get tired of them eventually, but nope. They still make me all happy and warm inside.
Video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=OgaGR46SCCg. The goats getting some hay. Mads is sniffing at Magnethe. Maybe he thinks that she’s covered in whipped cream? It’s just winter fur fading and wooliness though. If you look closely at Mads you’ll see that about halfway through he starts lifting his left front leg. He’s standing with his legs up on a stone. But that thing, lifting one leg slightly. He does that often. When he’s standing on the bench, next to me. He’ll just sort of lift it a bit and let it dangle in the wind. It”s quite funny. At least to me, but then I like little goat quirks.
Also video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=n2KdCp93Upo. That’s Gertrude, having a nice time in the mud. Towards the end you’ll hear Per ask her if she’s posing for the camera. She’s a dolly.
Bodil came by while I was having fun with the goats. Lulu, the dog, went up to the fence and looked in. And the buck came over to check her out. Seems they were quite smitten with each other! Normally Lulu doesn’t take an interest in the goats. But they were staring in each other’s eyes… at least until Lulu decided to jump up with her front legs on the fence. That seemed to scare the buck, he literally jumped away and ran. He’s a jittery fellow, sometimes. But good to see Bodil. She lifted Lulu up so she was sitting on the board on the top of the fence. Surveying the country before her. And letting me scratch her chin.
Good times.
The picture selection for the playground is done, I think. At 60 pictures. I’ll print 4 per piece of paper. That’s 15 pieces of photo paper I need then. We have some at home, but probably not that many. So I’ll need to go buy some. Would be nice to have it all done by christmas, it can be my present to them. My christmas surprise for you guys is coming along well too, shouldn’t be too long. Hopefully. Tis the season and all that.
Tomorrow: last of the soup. Mmm.

Yay! I’m glad you got it okay!
As I was packing it I thought “Wow, this is a lot of chocolate, is it too much?” but then I thought “what the hell!”.
Enjoy it!!!

Belinda – I like the way you think! And I am enjoying it greatly. Plus a whole new flavour of Tim Tams! New to me in any case.
