The Fishslap Dance

Still a little unwell. I have slept a lot. A lot lot. I’m not sure if that contributed to my feeling bad, though. But on the other hand I’m starting to feel better so maybe the sleeping was good for me. In any case I’m not feeling outright sick, like the flu. So hopefully it won’t get any worse.

To keep you entertained while I sleep the days away, here is a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5vgVnuFdyw. Good old Mads, the selfish goat. I’m giving out raisin treats and he wants them all for himself. I just love those sounds he makes. The grunting/mumbling/groaning outbursts. And how his head swings from side to side, as if he can’t decide what’s more important: getting a treat or keeping Magnethe away from the treats. Oh Mads, oh dear.

I didn’t get a chance to check up on the goats today since, well since I slept of course, so I don’t know if there are any kids yet. But I have asked Per if they would give me a call if Magnethe happened to give birth on a day when I wasn’t there. And I’ve had no calls. So I assume there has been no birth. I said previously that I’d be surprised if nothing happened this week. But it looks like Magnethe is still dragging things out! I think she just likes the attention. Hehe. It’s odd to feel her stomach and realize that there are most likely three little kids rolling around in there, almost ready to come out. I almost feel like putting my ear to her side and see if I can hear them talk in there. They must be doing something to pass the time!

I’m not being silly, thankyouverymuch.

Would Per call me if Magnethe hatches?

I think Mads’ collar looks a bit tight around his neck. We took our boys’ collars off since it matted their neck hair so much.

Mads’ little noises sound lots like our three boys. “Goat-speak” must be an international language.

Just finished reading Augusten Burrough’s book: “Dry”. I really enjoy his writing even if it’s about some sad/awful things that has happened to him.

Debster – I think it would have to be a call-collect, or whatever it’s called. I doubt phonecalls to America is within the playground’s budget limits! Maybe smoke signals..
I fixed up Mads’s clollar a bit today. I think it’s all that extra wool and fur that made it look tight, it wasn’t any tighter than usual. He loves getting scratched under it though.
Hadn’t heard of Burroughs before. Dry isn’t in the Danish library database. Too bad. His memoirs, Running with scissors, is there though. I’m going to check that out.

Yep, “Running With Scissors” is good, too. He had a really horrible, terrible childhood and has managed to come out of it okay. If ever anyone had a reason to moan and complain about the bad cards he’d been dealt in life, it would be him.

The “Dry” book is about his struggles with sobriety from drugs/alcohol. Sort of reminds me that not everyone has had a perfect life, no struggles, etc.
