Two Shining Stars

I’m having internet problems at the moment. But I’ll see if I can get this written and posted. Get ready for a ton of pictures!

There’s not a lot of story to the goat kids really. I got to the playground Thursday morning, and there they were. Two beautiful, little girls. And a proud mother, Magnethe. Everyone doing well. Happy and lively. And so wonderfully cute as only baby goats can be.

I have just been sitting in there with them. Letting them get used to me. Watching them. Holding them.

Letting them fall asleep in my arms.

They are the softest, sweetest things.

Look at her! Isn’t she beautiful? I love her face, the colours. Black and brown and white.

And I love this one’s tail! I gotta get a picture that shows it off better. Brown in both ends!

As I mentioned, the brown-headed one is the biggest and most lively one.

And the black one is the smallest one. Magnethe fusses over her a lot. Constantly checking on her. Often the black one will sit down and then Magnethe will go and push her up and get her to go drink.

There Magnethe is actually pushing her with her leg. It’s almost like Magnethe worries about her because she is the smallest one. And on the first day she wasn’t drinking as much either. Bodil came by, with her dog Lulu of course, and was a little worried about the little one as well. We were all making sure that things were going okay. And today it was perfectly fine, they were both energetic and drinking a lot. Per said that they were much livelier than Rainbow. Poor Rainbow. He was a boy, Rainbow. I have learnt. I wish he could have been there to bully his little sisters around! And take care of them, like a big brother should.

But they’re doing fine, that’s most important of all.

I put that chair (is it a stool?) in for me to sit on, but I spent most of the time sitting in the hay anyway. It’s more fun to be down in eye level. And the kids liked to go under the chair, they’d often sit down under there.

It’s a big, new world with lots of things to explore.

magnetheskids

And big, new Plumes that want to hold you.

magnetheskids

They’re a little wary when you pick them up at first. But they soon relax when you hold them softly and they feel safe.

magnetheskids

There is nothing sweeter. Or softer. Did I say that already? Soft like fluffy clouds. And you can feel their hearts beat. At one point I was holding the brown one and feeling her heart. And a motorcycle sped past outside. Her heart started beating faster because of the strange, loud noise. But I just held her and I could feel the beat returning to normal. So sweet to feel that beautiful, new life.

The sweet mother. Like I said, she’s being very attentive. Especially with the little, black one. Always checking her. And making lots of sweet murmuring sounds. They sound very caring and lovely to my ears.

It’s been a couple of nice days. Seeing nice people too. Bodil stopped by both yesterday and today. Nice to talk to her again. And Crazy Chicken Guy came by yesterday. Been a long, long time since I saw him. And of course various kids and adults alike coming to see the babies. They are stars, no doubt.

Now I better get to bed. I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow. Saturday. The 15th. Okay, another clue: MY BIRTHDAY. Yes. I’m going to dinner with the parents. Stegt flæsk at Rådhus Caféen. Mmm. Should be good. I have to go feed the animals first, though. It wasn’t my turn, but Jannie asked me if I could take her shift. For once I did’nt really feel like it. I usually try to only have one “thing” to do on any given day. Because I don’t have so much energy and stuff. You know. Totally. Rådhus Caféen is probably going to be full since we’re going in the evening. So that might be a little difficult. I would have prefered to be able to just relax and gather strength until the dinner. But then Jannie has a 10 hour shift at her new job. So it wouldn’t be nice for the animals to have to wait till late in the day before they get fed and it wouldn’t be nice for Jannie to have to go after a 10 hour shift. So instead I will be nice and do it. And it’s not like it’s horrible or anything. I’ll get to hang out with the two cutest goat babies I ever did see. And then I’ll try to get some rest before the dinner. Should all be fine and hopefully a good day. I couldn’t ask for better presents than those two little miracles.

Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, my dear danish goat boy. Happy Birthday to you! Have a good time at your birthday meal.

What lovely goaty pictures. They are both such beautiful little gals. And Magnethe is such a good mother.

We picked up sticks in the yard this afternoon since it was nice and sunny and we wanted to get it done before it RAINS or SNOWS again. Blah! I’m tired of snow.

Frankie did his best to help out by jumping on the wheeler and in the cart with the sticks in it. He liked to eat the tiny little leaf buds from the ends of the sticks. The other two goats grazed nearby and had a good “out of pen” time today and another walk this evening. No, we don’t spoil our goatzies at all!
