The Great Escape Artists
I got my first proper retirement check yesterday. And ka-ching. I’m getting more money than I thought. So basically I’m rich, rich I tellsya. I’m going to go shopping for mansions soon.
To celebrate I went downtown to buy comics. But the comics story was closed. What a waste of time. Luckily I stopped at the playground on my way home. What is the opposite of a waste of time? Time well spent I guess.
The kids were out on their own. The grownups were all in the pen. But these little ones can’t be contained. Apparently there’s a little gap in the fence and they’re able to squeeze out. They’re more than two weeks old now, brave enough to run around without mother watching.
And climbing everything of course.
Haha I like that picture. Magnethe’s teeth showing. It almost looks like she’s growling at me. Protecting her kids from the big, dangerous Plumemonster. The kids seemed pretty happy when I lifted them back in to their momma. I don’t think they can squeeze back in through the fence on their own. They went straight to the udder and drank. And then settled down and rested.
It’s been so great, the last couple of weeks. The little kids make me so happy. Done wonders for my mood. I’m sleeping better. Gloomy thoughts are much rarer. It’s hard to explain exactly how big a difference they’ve made. Goat kids are the best. The best.
Who wouldn’t love those sweet faces?
The black one started chewing on my fingers today. Really chewing, not just the little nibbles. They don’t chew very hard though. You can see that when they start chewing on the other one’s ears. Who can resist a big, floppy goat ear to chew on?! Hah. The one who gets her ear chewn doesn’t even react to it, so they obviously don’t bite very hard.
I was sitting with the kids today when Jannie was feeding. Here the black one is looking after Jannie as she leaves.
And there is Mads and Vanilje chilling by themselves. I’m sure it must be a relief to get a little quiet from the two little hurricanes.
How much do you think two goat kids cost? I’m sure I must be able to afford them. They’d fit snuggly in my bag. I could carry them around with me. Or rather, I could run after them and try to catch them. That’s more likely I think.
All for now. Tonight is daylights savings time in Denmark. The bad kind. I’m going to lose an hour. But then I have lots of hours to spare, so I guess that’s okay.
To the future!

I love goatzies teeth! Sometimes John Boy will show his when I scratch him just right.
Sorry I haven’t written lately. I got sick Friday afternoon (upset stomach and all that goes with it) and just haven’t felt very good all day today. I’m feeling some better this evening so thought I’d better check in and see how you’re doing.
Our Daylights Saving Time came on March 9th, so we’ve been enjoying the longer evenings lately. The boys were even out in the sun for awhile today even though it was windy.

Do what I did. Get lots of rest and eat very lightly, Debster. I hope you’ll be 100% very soon!
It’s good to have animals around–they can be very calming and I understand that having pets makes one live longer.
Next week at the child development center at the junior college I attend, there will be an event for the children of the area. A few friends and I will be volunteering there for the day.
And one of the things they will have is a petting zoo and little goats!! I can’t wait!
As both of you know, I’ve never seen a goat in person so this will be a new experience for me.
I know I could never have the wonderfully personal relationships you guys have with your goats. But I may be able to pet one…if I’m not too scared.
So I’ll be thinking of you guys, Plume and Debster, when I see the little goats up close.

LuisLemmings: you’ll do fine with the baby goats. It’s impossible to do anything wrong with them, you’ll love them and want to pet them as much as possible. At the end of the day, a guard will have to come over to you and say: “Sir, step away from the goats. They have to go home.”
I’m feeling much better today, but now seem to have a little bit of a cold coming on. At least the stomach upset is over and I’ve been eating very lightly as you suggested.

Debster – Ah there you are! Just a couple of days without comments from you and I start to wonder. I’m a needy goat! But seriously, I’m glad you’re doing better now. I wonder what goats would say if we advised them to eat lightly? I think we’d get a good butting we would.
Now take care and feel well. That’s my advice.
LuisLemmings – That sounds wonderful! You’re going to see goats! I hope you will like them half as much as I do, then you’ll be in love. And don’t be scared. As long as you’re calm and peaceful then I can’t believe they won’t love you. I hope you’ll have a swell time, and do tell us all about it afterwards!
