Good goat times today. Another one of those days where I barely made it out because of A) depression and 2) the weather. Checked the forecast and it said -8C/17F in the morning. That’s offensive! I wish to register a complaint!
But I did make it out, and I’m glad I did. The goating is always good. Always worth it. And it was a beatiful day. Lots of sunshine. And.. snow. A good deal of snow on the ground. Okay, I’m just going to admit it…
Hi, I’m Lasse Linno Henriksen and I love snow.
If it’s going to be cold, I want to snow. I love walking around in it. I love watching the goats in it. It’s better than mud. I’m glad I’ve gotten snow days this year, after none last winter. Very cold, of course, but I could manage it. The worst is my hands, because I need to operate the camera and hand out treats. It gets harder with mittens or gloves. So I end up with bare hands most of the time, and then periodically I have to warm them up in my pockets. I do have chemical handwarmers in my backpack if I need them. But it wasn’t too bad today. Despite the low temperatures. I managed okay. And It was lovely being with the goats in the snow today. No loud machines either. No workers around at all. Maybe they can’t do their work in the snow, I don’t know. But much nicer to be alone with the goats, other than a few visitors walking by now and then. Kids dragging sleds along the road next to the pen. There must be some good sledding hills around there somewhere.
And I got a goat circus in the snow when it was time to leave! Yay! Once again Sassy showed off some surprisingly nimble moves. She’s much faster and lighter on her feet than you’d think. I love seeing them run around in the snow. That’s the best part of having the snow. So much fun!

I had a disturbing dream last night. It felt so real. But, physically real. Often vivid dreams can feel real, but this felt so physically real. My head was filling up with blood and I couldn’t breathe. It felt like my head was getting inflated and like it was going to blow up. And I couldn’t breathe and just felt like I was dying. And then I woke up. I wonder if there was something in the real world that was provoking. Like if I had turned over and was lying in a way that was obstructing blood flow or something.

Good goat times today. The forecast said it was a little warmer than last time. But it felt colder. Much colder. I don’t think there was a ton of wind, but it must have been windier than last time, because I had a lot harder time coping with the cold. Oh bother. But another snowday with goats. And despite the cold, I think there was some heat going on. Lily was being very cute. She was wagging her tail a lot and doing those little grunty noises that they usually do when headbutting or fighting over food. She was acting more like a little buck than a momma goat. And Sassy was wagging her tail more than usual too. And at one point Nuller was even trying to mount her. I think there were hormones in the air. Or maybe that was just their way of keeping warm. I had to spend a lot of time in the goat house and do lots of fur cuddles and playing around to stay warm. Good snowdays, but I’m ready for spring now please!

I haven’t talked about politics lately, mainly because we finally got out of the Bizarro Circus.
But just for the record. Marjorie Taylor Greene is forking nutball piece of shirt. I swear to all the gods in the universe and beyond that if a democrat said the things she has said I’d tear them a new one. And I really wish real true Republicans would stand up and reclaim their party and show some spine. It’s not a matter of political differences, it’s a matter of not celebrating the lowest idiotic scum of the earth.

Oh remember a while ago I talked about a bird in the goat house, I was wonder if it might be someone’s pet bird that escaped or something like that? Well, the bird is still hanging around. I guess it wasn’t a pet bird after all, or at least it has been able to survive just fine out on its own, even in the freezing cold. It still comes into the goat house now and then. Gets in the feed box or just walks around and nibbles on stuff. It walks around a lot, but you can always hear when it flies because it flaps its wings really hard. I wonder if maye it’s a baby of the crows that always nest inside the goat house.. but it doesn’t look anything like the hooded crows we get here. But maybe that’s because it’s young? I don’t know. But I guess we got ourselves a pet goat house bird now. It doesn’t seem too scared of the goats. It’ll move away if they come super close to it, but it doesn’t really seem scared of them.

Fun fact: Until very recently I kinda thought Armie Hammer was Armin Shimerman who played Quark on Star Trek Deep Space Nine. And it wasn’t until just now when I looked him on up imdb that I realised that Armin Shimerman who played Quark on Deep Space Nine also played principal Snyder on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Also happarently he’s done a bunch of video game voice work, including Star Wars games. So he’s done both Trek and Wars.

I was feeling pretty crummy earlier. Kind of dizzy and nauseated. I felt like I was starting to get sick. But I think I’m feeling a bit better now. Tired and my vision not great. I don’t know. Hopefully it’s nothing. I’m gonna pack it in for today. Ship it back to the factory. Ask for a replacement. Or my money back. Maybe I can get a newer model. One with Bernie mittens and a jetpack. Well, at least my sense of humour hasn’t improved, thank goodness!
While I’m gone why don’t you enjoy this video of the goats in the snow last week, or month or whenever it was, 2021 is already five times longer than 2020 was. Anyway. This video has more than 117,000 views. Which is pretty forking nuts. There’s another one that has around 80-90,000. And a few around 30-40 thousand. I am really curious whether these numbers are due to the fact that I completely that page publishing authorisation thing, or if it’s because people really love seeing goats in the snow. I guess I’ll have to watch the numbers and see if goats in the mud get the same kinda viewership. I can certainly feel the popularity of the recent videos. Tons of comments coming in from strangers. Lots of ‘cute!’ style comments, and also some weird and rude and trolly ones. A nyway, I should stop typing. I’m feeling a bit delirious. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow after seventyblerns hours of sleep. I may have to call for emergency soup. I need a soup button my desk. You get right on that, Jeeves.

How am I feeling? Better. Still feeling a little dizzy and heavy. But not too bad. I’m sure I’m fine.
Funny how the world rewires your mind, I’m sure these days everyone thinks “oh no I have corona” when they feel bad. That’s the first thing that pops to mind. But I’m not feeling any of the symptoms of that, so that’s good.
Speaking of corona, it seems like Denmark is doing much better. Our numbers have been looking pretty good, after the last restrictions. Our hospitals may still be under some pressure from when it wasn’t going so well. But they daily numbers are looking good again. Of course there’s always the looming worry of the mutated strands and their extra infectiousness. But so far it’s looking like taking strong, quick action has a measurable effect. Whodathunkit.
I’m grateful I live in a country that has done so well. I am also grateful my family hasn’t been affected. I was really worried about that when the pandemic broke out. We’re all a walking case of pre-existing conditions. And with all the health problems, my parents and brother have had to regularly be in places where.. you know, there are sick people. So I was pretty scared of that. But so far at least we have dodged that bullet.
Hope you’re all doing alright out there. Thnak you for worrying and caring. When I’m at my lowest it helps to know there are people who care. It really does.

Good goat times today. I managed to get out, hooray. Physically I’m feeling pretty normal, but the depression has been hard to fight against. So good thing I got out and got my goat fix.
Pretty wet, though. Some cold rain and may even have been a little snow mixed in. And the workers were working. They were working right at the goat fence. Which made me feel very self conscious. Yeah, I feel a lot less at ease when there are humans around. It was a little hard to just relax and goat around. But it’s always good goat around. Watching the rain fall from the shelter with Mia, Sky and Milo. While the newbs were in the goat house. And just relaxing. Everything is always better with goats.
Now I just need spring, please.

This is what the horse field looks like now. I’m not even sure what that is, is that sand? I’m not sure what the whole plan is for the area. Maybe the horses won’t be kept up here anymore. There is that alt pen just across the road, maybe they’ll keep the horses there instead. But I sure hope this is just going to be some kind of lower layer and that they’ll put grass on top again. I would be sad if we didn’t have that big grass field anymore. I guess there’s nothing to do but wait and see what it ends up like.
