Thermos Soup

January 18th, 2012

I had a pretty good day yesterday. I went up and spent some time with the goats. Always fun.

Little video: youtube.com/watch?v=-qeIRt627-4

I was trying to teach Bob to put his hoof on my hand and the propel himself up in the air. He sort of did it spontaneously a couple of times so I tried to get him to do it again and give him raisins for it. He didn’t quite get it, but he did get even more enthusiastic about jumping up on me, which you can see a bit of in the video.

I had such a lovely time that I almost forgot to be cold. Of course as soon as I left the playground the cold started creeping in. I always like to just wash my hands at the outdoor tap when I leave, to get the worst goat hair and dirt off me. Makes for cold, cold fingers though.

When I got back home I warmed up a pot of mama’s leftover soup from Sunday. Mmm mm. That’s the stuff. Warms the body and the soul. I should bring a thermos bottle of it out with me in the cold. I bet that would be even better than thermal underwear.

In other news, DOWN WITH SOPA. Yeah. Boo. To protest SOPA I’m probably not going to be blogging again for oh several days. Oh me oh my. That should send a message.

Return Of The Goats

January 13th, 2012

2012 finally got goaty. I got to see the goats again, and it made me happy. As it always does. I’m always a little worried, though, when I’ve been away for more than a few days. And especially with the new year’s fireworks and all. I get paranoid that they won’t all be there to greet me. That someone will be gone. But no worries this time, four furry goaties were there to say hello. And it snowed. It didn’t last long, just a couple of hours. But I got to walk around in the falling snow and things got white briefly. So that was really nice. I liked that. Even though it was cold.

Mostly of course I liked the goats. As here seen: youtube.com/watch?v=vZzzFd8bzJI. Nothing exciting. But goats. I’m glad they’re all still doing well. And they will continue to provide me with happiness and a reason to get out of the apartment. Even when it’s cold.

They really do need to pick a name for the new girl, though.

Other than that there’s nowt much going on. I helped my dad make stamps. He is quite into the stamp collecting. And he found out that you can make your own stamps. So I helped him out with that. We made them on the Norwegian postal service’s website. Fancy Norwegian stamps. They proper work and all. Quite extraordinary. I almost feel like making some myself now. With goats. Although to be fair I don’t send much snail mail these days. In fact pretty much none. I just want goat stamps. But it was nice that I could help my dad with it. I took pictures of him. And photoshopped text. I get kind of frustrated with these things now, because it’s a lot more difficult for me to do because of my eyesight. Five years ago I could have whipped something nice up in a matter of minutes. Now I end up worrying about it all because it takes longer and I can’t tell if what I’m doing is good enough or not. But dad seems to like the stamps. We made some a week ago or so, without text. And they turned out good he said. Hopefully the ones with text will too.

And on Sunday it’s soup time. Bam!
