Up The Creek Withour A Pair Of Glasses

(google cache)

I am tired. And my head hurts. And my eyes, my eyes they are a blur like a superhero speeding across your TV screen. I do so not enjoy eye exams.

Especially when they show you the eye test chart and you can’t even read the top letters. You know, the ones that are there as a joke, as a calibration of the test. The ones that are as big as an elephant’s forehead. The ones EVERYONE can read. I do not enjoy not being able to read them.

Anyway, the cataracts exam wasn’t as bad as I had feared. There was no hurting bits at least. It was long and painless. Compared to the laser treatments that are short and very uncomfortable if not painful. I don’t know which I prefer. At least the laser treatments are over quickly. It’s not fun spending 3-4 hours in a hospital. Sitting in waiting rooms and being guided from machine to machine. But at least I am good at sitting still and staring blankly ahead of me. Both the nurse and the doctor complimented me on that. I have excellent sitting still skills.

The doctor was very young. And handsome. He reminded me of Dawson Leery. Hah. I’m sure he was very competent though. No complaints.

The results? I do have some cataracts. Small ones? Few ones? I’m not sure how you say it. But most of my sight problems are due to the diabetes changes in the eyes. The doctor wasn’t sure that operating the cataracts would make a significant difference. At least not now. And I still have some swellings in my eyes. The lenses. Or something. So it was decided that we won’t do anything about it right now. We will wait for the laser treatments to be over and for my sight to settle a little hopefully. I got a new appointment in May and then we’ll see by then if it will be worth operating or not.

So no real progress. Next laser treatment is on the 26th and then we’ll take it from there.

I did get some good news today. Seems my brother has managed to get his internet working on the new laptop. With the wirelessness. So that means I don’t have to come over and muck about with wireless networks and Vistas and things I can’t read. That’s good news indeed. And soon I’ll get his old laptop. Just in time for my birthday.

That’s all for now. Tomorrow: new Lost. Watch this space.

We shall put you in camo and take you wild turkey hunting. One must sit very, very still to hunt the wild turkey.

Oh, so maybe the swelling in your eyes from the laser treatment is what is making your vision blurry? And when it goes down, then your vision will improve? I think maybe I’m understanding this better.

We had nice walkies again today. I combed enough hair from Frankie to make another goat! I remember him doing this last year, too. The other two boys seem to shed a little at a time for a longer period of time. Frankie is like “let’s just get this over with.”

Debster – I don’t think I’d do well at turkey hunting, what with the two little goat boys running around me causing havoc.
Yes, hopefully the swelling will go down and my sight will settle somewhat. get a little better I hope. It’s hard to say anything for sure yet.
