In Another Life, When We Are Both Cats
(google cache)
I got some bad news today. The cute Føtex girl is stopping. Today is her last day at Føtex. She was talking to someone while I was waiting in line- And I heard her say it. I couldn’t believe it. My shopping trips are going to be much less fun now.
I wanted to say something, like “let’s stay in touch” or “it’s been nice knowing you” or “so what are you going to do now?”. But of course I didn’t. Because that’s the way I roll. Now I will probably never see her again. So it goes.
In other news, I got a letter from the hospital yesterday. With the schedule for the next eye operation. It will be on Thursday July 16th. So just under 3 weeks from now. As I said, I am pretty sure we’ll have to do the right eye again. To get the blood out. Because it’s still there. Hopefully the second time will get it all done and then we can move on to the left eye soon. Because I am not at all seeing well.
My doctor’s appointment yesterday went fine. No sugar in my urine (you’ll be happy to hear) and my blood pressure was fine. Hopefully the blood tests will be fine too.
And then I went and saw the goats. A sight for my sore eye. They were all doing fine and it was great to see them again. I staid outside the fence to keep my eye safe. It was tough, I just wanted to jump in and hug them all to bits. But I did give them lots of cuddles and scratches. There was some kind of wire set up along all the fences though. Magnethe didn’t seem to like it, she didn’t really want to come up to the fence. But the hatch was open so I went inside where there was no wire at the walls and gate. And there she came up to me and I gave her some treats and scratches. The boys weren’t afraid of the wire at all, it didn’t keep them from jumping up at the fence outside. They practically got themselves tangled in it. They are so big now. I don’t think Vanilje can boss them around anymore. I saw them having a few head-to-heads. Horn-to-horn. And they didn’t back off or anything. They will be ruling the place soon enough.
And now I just have to get through the next 2½ weeks until the next surgery.

Hay, hay. Another Fotex gal to practice talking to! It doesn’t get any better than that my dear danish goat boy.
Frankie was baaaaing his little head off last night since my husband was mowing grass and Frankie thought he should be in the goat pen with him.
So I went over to the wooden spool where Frankie was lying down and I sat next to him and gave him scratches and told him what a good goat he was.
You won’t believe what he did next! He actually laid his head down on my leg. Frankie never does this (well none of the goats do this). I thought to myself this would be something dear Mads would have done with Plume!
After mowing was finished, I told my husband what Frankie had done. And guess what he said? “Well that sounds like something Mads would do with Plume!”
It’s totally out of character for our boys to act that way. I’d like to think it was a sign from Mads…that’s he’s doing alright and is happy. Maybe that sounds nutty, but why couldn’t he do that???

Desiree – Bummer isn’t it? I might have to start flirting with you instead now. Hope you don’t mind.
Debster -Oh there are plenty of girls working at Føtex. But only one I liked. Sniffle.
That was a sweet Frankie moment. I’d like to think that was a little message from Mads. That is one of my best memories of him. Sleepy, comfy Mads trusting me completely. I miss that crazy, wonderful goat.
