Social Insecurity
(google cache)
got something rather odd in the mail today. It was an envelope from the postal service, I think. Inside it was my old social security card. And nothing else. No explanation, no letter, no nothing. Very puzzling.
The only explanation I can think of is that the people who broke into my storage room in the basement found the card there and took it and tried to do evil things with it. Identity theft. And hopefully they failed and discarded the card. And someone somehow sent it back to me with no explanation. That’s all I can imagine. I got a new social security card when I moved. I should of course have cut the old card and thrown it out. But I obviously didn’t. I must have put it in my “memories collection”. I know I have other old cards there, Brøndby Support membership cards and video rental cards and such. I found them when I cleaned up the mess. So I must have had my SS card there too and they took it. Yes. I don’t know if the old card still works. I know it has the wrong address on it obviously. Hopefully they couldn’t use it for anything. As far as I know I haven’t been signed up for anything or had my bank account emptied or anything. So fingers crossed nothing will happen. It’s not a nice thought that some hoodlums have my social security number, but what can you do. Like with so many other things I can just sit back and wait and hope for the best.
Today was the start of the Danish soccer season on the telly. Brøndby played a firendly against dutch side PSV Eindhoven. I watched it. And by watched it I mean that I listened to the commentary. That’s about all I can do of course. I can sort of see the replays. But not really follow the game. It’s not going to be a fun season. Unless the surgeries work. But oh well, there are more important things than football.
The weather has been pleasantly cool. Cool enough that I have been able to use my thick blanket. I just love wrapping myself up in it. Cosy, warm dreams.
Finally, a video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuH1xt8u1EA. The goats a couple of days ago. Nothing exciting. Just me sitting between them. A little moanygroaning from Magnethe. Some carrot. And relaxing in the sunwind. Good times.

It’s nice to see Magnethe and Vanilje relaxing and enjoying your visit. I stayed near Snickers on the walk last evening and fed her grass. Just a nice chomp, chomp sound to listen to. And I even kept all my fingers!
My husband and I took a day off from work! We went to see the 3D movie “Ice Age”. It was pretty funny watching it in 3D. Not a big crowd at the theatre since it has been out awhile. We also ate at the Chinese restaurant before the movie.
So now we just have to take everyone out for walkies, apples, and grass and then everyone will be happy.

Debster – A day off from work? You spoil yourselves! I wonder if the goats would like a 3D movie. They’d probably eat the glasses. At least if you have to wear those cardboard 3D glasses I seem to remember from my childhood.
Ann T. Krist – That would probably sell more tickets.

Hay, hay. We’re upscale here. The 3D glasses were plastic frames! I kept mine for a souvenir. I know, I know. We’re getting lazy taking a day off from work.
We finally just made time to power-wash my parents house and deck. It wasn’t a big deal doing it, but just making the time to do it. I did some weeding while my husband used the pressure washer.
Of course, Mom wants to pay us for it. But I’m thinking more of a large pan of brownies or a cake would be nice instead!

Hahaha .. What is wrong with your eyes? I hope the surgery goes well. Do you have diabetes type 2? I think you need to do something to turn your life around to the better. I hope you will.

Ann T. Krist – Yup, I have type 2 diabetes. And I have made a lot of changes already. I’m eating healthier and try to do exercise (though I’m not allowed much now because of the surgeries). There’s still lots to do, but my blood sugar levels are fine. But it’s still gone to my eyes an they are close to kaput. Hopefully the surgeries can do something,
