Passing Goats
Not much going on at ze moment. Passing time. Less than two weeks until the eye stuff starts up again.
What nicer way to pass time than with the goats?
You can do eet too.
youtube.com/watch?v=pl3PR-WeeRU. Video from Wednesday.
youtube.com/watch?v=uJTQXDuOxp8. And from today. I’m not sure how well you can see it at the beginning, but Magnethe’s girl is pushing her head against me. I don’t know where she picked up that little thing. I thought the boy would be the first one to get all pushy. But this time the girl was first. Oh they’re going to be trouble when they grow up. Big, fun trouble.
There’s a look at the sheepies too. Polka and black mama sheep. Along with her lamb, who is now too big to be called a lamb really. But they all seem to be doing fine.
And if you like videos of goats and other animals, I recommend Purty’s channel. She has been leaving me lots of comment on my youtube videos, which makes me happy. And now she has started uploading videos of her own from the petting zoo where she works. So check them out. I love people who are nuts about goats. I wonder why hmmm?!

We got to see a newborn baby calf this afternoon. It was born this morning. Still wobbly on its legs, too. It is mostly black with some white areas on its face. Just like its mama.
We were over at our new rental home painting. Yes, that’s right! We’re moving. And yes, all the animals are coming with us! That’s part of why we are cleaning and painting the interior of the house. The owners raise cattle and they have 142 mama cows ready to calf at any moment.
We aren’t too far away from where we’ve lived for the last 11 years, so we’re still near our hometown, the shop, my parents, and my sister and her husband.
We’re out in the country, away from traffic, on a gravel road. Lots of birds, fields, and an area to fence in for the goats and donkey.
Our landlord is supposedly selling the house we rent currently to her daughter. The landlord always talked like she wanted us to rent from her forever. But I guess not!
We are soooo relieved to find someplace we can move the animals to. That was a very important thing for us. We just love our goats, donkey, dogs, cats, and birds.
Plume, I know you realize how important it is to be around your animal friends as much as possible. Other people might think we are crazy, but they don’t know goats like we do, do they!
I will let you know closer to the time when we move about our address, etc. I think our email address will stay the same and our phone number, too.
We were just devastated when we learned we had to move, but now that we’ve found another place to rent, things are all coming together for us. I waited to tell you until we had some good news to relate to you.

SO you have given up on ever trying to have the stereotypical “normal life” (which I think is overrated anyhow) and have come with terms with being That Weird Guy In the Neighborhood who has no girlfriend/job/friends/life who is just really unusually into goats, huh. I don’t know whether to send congratulations or my condolences? I am leaning toward congrats. It seems like you have finally found peace/place where you belong.

Debster -. Oh my! You’re moving. That is big news. I’m glad you can bring all the animals (and the husband too!). That would have been horrible if you hadn’t been able to find room for them somehow. But I’m sure you will be happy in the new place. And the goats too.l Imagine that, all new plaaces to discover and things to eat. Can’t be bad.
I hope it all goes well. You can always come live with me. You know, all my spare bedrooms and all.
89j – Oh definitely congratulations. With all I have been through I am happy to have wiat I have. It could easily have been even less. Nothing. Wishing for things that are unrealistic will get me nowhere. I try to find some happiness in what I have.

Oh that is good to hear, that you are content. But have you just given up on ever having like a girlfriend or something because you deem it “unrealistic” though? Because that would be a shame. I think you just need to find the right person and they are out there.
Dont you ever get lonely and wish you had someone? I mean, yeah the goats are nice, but they are just goats. I think you make them out to be more human-like than they really are, because they are safe, will never reject you, are “easy” to please. But you are really missing out I think.

89j – I have given up on it. At least for now. Too much eyesight stuff going on to even think about that sort of stuff. Who knows, maybe some day in the future. But I doubt it. I am unattractive, half-blind, can’t talk to people. I don’t think it is in the cards.
And at this point I am not sure I would want to go through what it would take to try.
So there. We’ll see. I am okay with it. I have gotten used to the idea of being alone.
The goats are not “just goats” to me. They mean the world to me. But I know they are not a replacement for human love. They do not love me like humans do, I have no illusions about that. They do help me to get some company with other people though, even if it is not romantic company.

Plume is not alone. He is a wonderful person doing the best he can with the cards he has been dealt in life.
Our mutual love and affection for goats has brought us together. Plume’s patience and kindness to the playground animals has benefited the animals, the visitors to the playground, and himself.
Even though it is very difficult for Plume to socialize with other people, he has found a way to do so by helping the other visitors to the playground get to know how wonderful the goats and other animals are.
Plume is kind to everyone – the kids, adults, and all the animals. He gives and receives unconditional love and acceptance to everyone, goats included.
Some people may not think that is “normal”, but I think Plume is pretty special!

Debster – I should hire you as my PR consultant! Thanks for all the nice words.
I don’t mind being the weird goat guy. Or, Grandpa Goat. As Purty dubbed me. Almost.

Hee, hee. I’m the “Old Goat Lady”!

Debster – But you’re young at heart!
