Under The Weather

I am pretty much done cleaning my apartment. I have been through everything now. I just need my dad to pick up all the stuff that we’ll be selling or giving away. And then tidy up a few loose ends. But other than that, it’s all done. I have thrown out so much junk. You would not believe it. I practically have twice as much space in here now. I could house a couple of goats I bet. Hmm…

Noe I need to get my new vacuum cleaner working. And wash the floor. We’ll see how that goes.

Today I went and saw the goats. I almost didn’t get to go, because it was raining really hard outside when I got up. But it quieted down a little and eventually I was able to go. I think the sun even came out.

Little Hans was not doing so well when I got there. He was lying down in some hay. And he didn’t even react when he saw me. He didn’t get up or baah or anything. Normally he’s very excited to see me. I mean, all goats I have known are usually quite excited when people start coming into their fold. So I knew something was wrong. I went up and asked the staff if they knew what was up. Per said that he had probably been overeating during the weekend. Maybe he got in the fodderboxes, I don’t know. But they assured me they’d keep an eye on him. And I think Per called the vet too.

I’m sure he’ll be fine, Hans. But it was strange and a little sad seeing him like that. Normally goat kids are so full of energy and bouncing all over the place. Today he spent most of the time I was there just lying down. He did get up a little. Walked around slowly. But not much. He seemed very tired. And not at all interested in treats or scratchies. You know a goat isn’t feeling well when they don’t want any of those things. Poor little guy.

Grethe and Magnethe were both fine and were not at all unhappy to receive treats and scratchies. I think Grethe actually somewhat enjoyed not having to fight her brother for my attention.

But I hope he’ll feel better soon, the little trooper.

Tomorrow I have foot therapy and Wednesday it’s back to the hospital to have my eyes looked at. Fingers crossed.

aww, poor Hans! I hope he gets better real soon!

Well done, getting the apartment tidied up! Wanna come over and do the same for me? :) Somehow I seem to find other, more pressing errands whenever I start thinking about having a proper cleaning of the place :p

Me too, me too. You can come over and help me clean. I actually emptied another box today left-over from our move and put some other things away.

I watched the hummingbirds today for about half an hour. I was able to get within about 3 feet from the feeders. I think there were about a dozen of them flying around, buzzing, and squeaking.

They are so fast, it’s hard to count them as they buzz in and out and then up over the shed. One bird humming isn’t very loud, but when there’s a dozen of them…quite a loud HUM!

Poor Hans. I hope he gets better soon. Goats sometimes don’t seem to have the “off” button when it comes to eating the good stuff.

Hope all goes well with your appointments.

Katrine – No deal! Cleaning up my tiny apartment was enough work for mea lready, thankyouverymuch. Maybe you should hire some goats :-P

Debster – No no no. No more cleaning! I will have nightmares about it.
I am jealous of your hummingbirds. I wonder if I could get a family of hummingbirds to move in, now that I have all that extra space. I will check the paper and see if any hummingbirds have put in wanted ads.
