Five-a-Side

Had a nice day on Wednesday. It was my dad’s birthday, so I went and had dinner with the family. But first I went to the playground and spent a lot of time with the goats. Normally I go early in the day, but I figured this time I’d stay late and then go straight to my parents’ place for the dinner afterwards. Staying later at the playground means meeting more kids and visitors, so that was a really good time.

A video of the goating around: youtube.com/watch?v=EVzVOnpTmZo. Along with Bodil and Sif and Per and others. Sif is all better. You might remember she had some problems with her legs and bad surgery. Bodil was very worried. But it has all cleared up and turned out okay, so that’s a great relief and good news. Sif is ready for many new adventures. Bodil says she wants to put little horns on her and then she’d be like a little goat. She has a bit of a goaty personality. Which is a high compliment in my book.

Magnethe’s little black kid has been named Mio. I’m not sure if the others have names yet. But Mio is a little charmer he sure is. He likes raisins too. Well, they all do.

There is some concern about Snow White’s kids. She’s taking more care of one than the other. The one I call Smokey. While little Bandit is in danger of being neglected. She isn’t rejecting him, though. And I have seen him drink milk from her. So I hope it will be okay. I can see Snow White paying more attention to the other one, who also seems al ittle livelier. But Bandit is so adorable, so I don’t hope it will be necessary to take him away and having him hand reared or anything like that. We will keep our fingers crossed.

Smokey and the Bandit went outside for a little bit, but I’m not sure they were quite ready for it. Magnethe doesn’t want them close, so it works a little better if they stay inside and Magnethe and her babies stay outside mostly. You can see it in the video too, quite a circus. How many little goat clowns can you fit in a pen?

Oh good goats.

Tomorrow I have a checkup at the eyedoctor. I don’t expect there to be any news. My eyesight has been fairly stable this year. It still goes up and down depending on varying factors, but generally it doesn’t change much. A quick checkup and then more goats. That’s the order of the day.
