…And I Feel Fine
Trouble is a-brewing. The bird flu has reached Denmark. Well, it has reached Germany. But that’s practically Denmark. And the infected swans were part of a German/Danish flock. So it’s not looking good.
Normally I wouldn’t really take much notice of the bird flu coming to Denmark. But I go to the playground almost every day, and it’s full of ducks and chickens and geese. So suddenly it’s sort of “closer to home”. I talked to Kurt. He said that they’d kept all their birds inside today. But they have so many that it won’t be possible to keep them at the playground if they’re not allowed to go outside. And that’s the consequence of the bird flu, all the birds will have to stay inside.
Now they’re waiting to see what will happen. The Danish health system has been collecting dead and injured birds to test. The results will be ready in a couple of days. And if there really is bird flu inside our borders then the playground will probably have to get rid of most of their stock.
So that’s not a lot of fun.
Sometimes I wonder if the world is ending. Epidemics and wars over cartoons and earth quakes and tsunamis and whatever else is going on in the world. Not that it’s ending right now, tomorrow. But on a larger scale. I wonder if we’re slowly getting closer to the end.
If only we could get along like bunnies and lambs.
Both bunnies seem to have moved in with the sheep. Cute. And I am in love with the siblings. I thought Flotte (the spotty) was the girl, but Kurt told me it was a boy. I meant to ask if Fine was the girl then or if it was two boys. I forgot though. But the way Fine is headbutting you’d think it was a little guy. Flotte has started headbutting too. It’s so amazingly adorable. They back up a few steps and then boingggg! they spring forward and butt their little soft heads against your hand. They can actually hit pretty hard already, but it’s like being hit with a fluffy cloud or something. Soft and extremely cute.
Maybe it’s time the sheep inherited the earth.

You definitely don’t want Dick Cheney anywhere near your birds. I hope when he arrives at the pearly gates, a quail is there to greet him,
