Shivering Isles o’ Madness
I did not sleep well last night. And when I woke up I berated myself for not having the courage to kill myself. Then I went and looked in the mirror and berated myself for thinking like that. And then I berated the coffee for being too hot. Nah, only kidding. I don’t drink coffee.
I’m just trying to illustrate that I am not yet safe from bad thoughts. But generally I’m still doing good. I am not depressed. So don’t worry.
Yesterday was my brother’s birthday. He is 27 now. Imagine that. I still see him as a little boy. But then that’s how I see myself as well. Maybe I just need to change my perspective. My mother had the night shift at work yesterday so we’re celebrating today instead. And by celebrating I just mean the three of us having dinner together. Nothing special.
It has been raining and raining and raining. No snow left. I am crossing my fingers for us getting more soon.
I watched Labyrinth yesterday. I am sure everybody loves it. And well they should. The special effects are looking dated but it’s still a wonderful movie. It was the perfect movie for me as a kid. That whole thing about escaping the real world. Finding a magic, fantasy world. I loved that. I always wished that our closets would one day open and reveal a passageway to Narnia. Or some such thing. Maybe that is why I love dreams today. It is the closest thing you can get to escaping to a crazy, surreal, magical world. Without going insane. Maybe that is why I love snow too. I always felt like it transformed the world into some other, magical place. Dance, magic dance. I wish there was more magic in the world. Real magic, not card tricks or illusionists. Who cares if you can make an aeroplane disappear? I want to make things appear, not disappear.
I always saw myself as a bit of a Ludo type. Big, ugly beast with a heart of gold. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover etc. Luuuudo. Friend..
Remember Sille’s soft chin and how I scratched it? Videoed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkAvSGhkzFo. Just a little vid, nothing special.
Debster, I am jealous of your snow. Be careful though. Don’t fall! It can be tricky, as the goats saw last year: http://youtube.com/watch?v=-37eXf64_pI.
Bambi for goats.

Hey Luis Lemmings. Please confirm there are rats in the palm trees in CA. I think there is a doubting Plume who doesn’t believe ME, if that can be possible.
We don’t have rats in our trees here, only birds, cats, and the occasional snake. And squirrels, musn’t forget them.
I’m sending death rays to banish and obliterate all bad feelings, so watch out danish goat boy.
Our goats walked in the snow today with us. I cleared a path for them. John-Boy wanted to make his own path. Billy took the easy way and walked in my path. Silly little goatzies.

Debster – Thank you for the card! That was a cool goat! I wonder if Mads would drink lemonade out of a glass. Maybe I can try it sometime.
You have snakes in the trees? That’s even worse than rats. I think. We don’t have many snakes in Denmark. I think we have only one poisonous kind. Yup, this is the one: http://www.nhf.dk/hugorm.html. Thank you Google!
It’s a good thing that the royal goatzies have humans to make paths for them. Better be careful or they’ll get you to shovel it all away for them!

Yes, it’s true, Debster. There are rats in palms trees out here, but only the kind that bares fruit. I’ve never seen them; but I know people who have. They scurry out when the city trims the palms so that they don’t become a hazard to cars. The palm fronds sometimes falls onto the streets. The city takes great pains to avoid any liability. And with San Diego essentially bankrupt they don’t have that much money anymore.

Aha, I have been vindicated! There are rats in palm trees. If they’re in the date palms, are they “date rats”? Watch out for falling rats! Wouldn’t want to be driving a convertible and have a date rat plop into the seat next to me.

It is so creepy. My friend says you can hear them scurry up and down. And there are, of course, your usual squirrals and snakes and birds and lizards. In fact, there is a green lizard that lives in my backyard. It’s one of those pet lizards and I think it must have escaped from somebody’s house in the neighborhood. Since I don’t have any cats or dogs anymore, it seems to like it here. I feed it watermelons and honeydew melons. Plus, the dogs and cats in the neighborhood are the most laziest ones around. They don’t bother anyone and love to sleep on top of cars, trash cans, fences, etc. A couple houses away, someone likes to keep pet chickens although it’s against the law here, no one minds. I’m hoping that one day we’ll get goats, too.

Luis Lemmings – And here I thought palm trees were just nice, exotic goodies. Maybe it would be easier to get plastic palms as well.
I hope one day you’ll get goats. I doubt they would climb any palm trees. They don’t lay eggs either, but apart from that they are jolly nice.
Debster – You are teh Vindicator!
