Smilla’s Sense of Goats
Well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well.
The snow came back!
I saw it last night when I got up for a wee wee. It’s always dangerous to get excited about snow at night. Especially in the early stages of winter. Because the snow might be gone by the time you get up in the morning.
But when I peeked out the window this morning it was still all white and sparkly. Sweet.
Perfect for combating bad thoughts. The above picture is from the bus stop. I went shopping in Kvickly. Out and about in the snow. I was too quickly in Kvickly though. Ended up having to wait for the bus for 15 minutes. I wouldn’t mind waiting in the snow, only I was foolish enough to not wear a sweater. I figured my scarf and gloves and woolly socks would be enough. But it got a bit chilly. So I came home cold and tired (trying to get used to getting up earlier again). But of course that did not stop me from going out again. What is better than snow? Snow on the playground, naturally.
My Narnia.
The goats were even outside. In fact Mads seemed to quite like the snow.
He was eating it. I seem to remember from last year that he didn’t care much for snow. But he was going at it! You can look forward to a video of that.
Maybe it was just particularly tasty snow today. Sille liked it too.
Kinda reminds me of The Young Ones. Snow for dinner again? No Vyvyan, it’s risotto..
He doesn’t like getting it all on his face though!
And then a little romance.
Look into my eeeeyes.
Your eyes are like pools of raisins and nuts, m’darling.
You better enjoy long-haired Plume while you can. One of the next days I shall go and have it all cut off. It’s too bad. I actually like having long hair. But I’m not very good at keeping it and grooming it and all that. It tends to just grow wildly out of control and I walk around like a haystack. So easier to get rid of it. Now that I soon have to go back out in real society. Only a week and half left of my vacation.
I should now like to end this entry with a prayer. Unfortunately I don’t know any, so here’s a quote from Chris Kattan’s website:
You said you were the Class Clown – what kinds of things did you do to earn that title?
I’d clown around in class, and the teacher would say “stop clowning around in my classroom, who do you think you are the class clown?”

Snowing here too.
And I also say wee wee.

We had snow on Sunday and it’s supposed to snow a little this afternoon. Plume, how’s the wombat? Does he like snow or is he puzzled about it?
We (Clare, Plume, & I) need to pack up a big box of snow and send to poor Luis who doesn’t have any snow.

Clare – Wheee!
Debster – The wombat is sitting besides me, looking very snuggly and warm. I’m not sure he likes the snow. Not as much as I do. I’ll get him trained though. I’ll take him for a little walk so he can see how pretty it all is.
Hanne – Hah! :-P

No snow here (sad face). But it did reach almost 70 degrees. It felt like early spring! I wanted to go to the beach but worked in the yard instead.

Luis Lemmings – Did you know that Denmark is the country in the world with the largest percentage of coast line. We are all beach and no yard. Not that that has anything to do with anything.

Have you been to the beach, Plume? I love it! I need to be near the sea for my emotional health. But most of all it’s the beauty of the beach that has me coming back time and time again. I love to go during a heavy rain and the sea has waves so big they crash on the pier. I don’t like to go when it’s crowded. I always go in the winter, when it’s raining, or when it’s terribly cold. It’s the solitude that makes me happy being there.
One time, I saw a school of dolphins near a group of surfers. I was standing on the pier in Imperial Beach, which is a coastal community here in town, and people started to point at the water. I looked down and saw all these dolphins of different sizes and ages. They were having fun with the surfers, swimming around them, under them, and twisting up in the air.
Have you seen dolphins, too? I hope to see them again one day. I must take photos of the sea here in San Diego. I’m sure it’s not so much different than the sea in Denmark. Both are equally beautiful…

Luis Lemmings – I have not been to the beach since I was a kid. Showing myself was not something I liked to do… but it sounds lovely the way you describe it. When it’s not crowded. And when it rains, that must be awesome. Perhaps I should try that sometime. It would be a shame to waste all that beach.
I don’t think I have ever seen dolphins in real life. If I have then, again, it would be as a kid in some kind of maritime park or such. I hope I’ll get to see them some day.
