Intermissionary
I wanted to write about some photography stuff. But now I am too tired. Such is the curse of the lazyboy. Instead, here are some photos.
Kids at the playground. Shermin in the stripes, who you might remember. They were making boxes. Wooden boxes. Probably for bunnies or hamsters. Sawing and hammering and having a good time. While the goats looked on with curiosity. The kids who are used to coming to the playground are also often used to being around the goats. So there is less “AAAGH THE GOATS ARE FREE” screams. Hehe.

Is Shermin carrying a bunny? That’s a good idea to let the kids make things at the playground. Girls with hand saws become women with power tools! I’m pretty handy with an electric sander myself.

Debster – Yup, that’s a bunny she’s carrying. Maybe it’s the bunny that’s going to live in the box? Possibly. Hmm, electric sander. That sounds dangerous. I’d probably be afraid of that. Magnethe is afraid of brooms. I discovered that a couple of days ago, when I picked up a broom and started sweeping the ground. She ran away. Then I put down the broom, and she slowly came walking back.

I’m afraid of hot glue guns. I’m afraid I’ll glue my fingers together. Now Luis Lemmings is the master of the hot glue gun, if I remember correctly.

Glue gun is more like “goo” gun in my hands. It’s an awfully messy thing sometimes.
The school thing is where I’m going to become a preschool teacher. It’s a long story…kind of like that movie “Gone with the Wind.”
Moominlizard was “attacked” by two hummingbirds a couple of days ago. The gardener told me about it and he literally chased the two birds away.
The gardener felt so sorry for Moominlizard that he built a little ‘lean to’ against the wall for him to flee to.
So now I have to get those hummingbird feeders so that they don’t try to eat Moominlizard’s fresh fruit slices.
Also, DON’T TOUCH THE HOT GLUE FROM THE GLUE GUN. Really, they can burn the skin!
It’s so nice that the children help with boxes for the rabbits and hamsters. It makes them feel as they’re making a difference in the animals lives.

Luis Lemmings: That’s great about becoming a preschool teacher! By the way, I just re-read “Gone With the Wind” for my book club. Do you speak with a southern accent? (ha, ha) Frankly, Scarlett I don’t give a damn!
Poor Moominlizard. Attacked by kamikaze hummers. That’s the way it is, you get one pet (Moominlizard) and now you have more to feed (the hummers).

Luis Lemmings – You will have to teach the preschoolers about the goats and the lizards. It is important information.
Funny story, when my family bought our first VCR we also rented Gone With The Wind. We were watching it right before the deadline when we had to return the tape. Clueless as we were we didn’t realize that we had to press STOP Before we rewound the tape. So we just pressed rewind and the tape started rewinding with the movie going in reverse.. what do you call that? Scanning backwards? In any case it obviously takes a lot longer than if you rewind the tape without the movie running backwards. So we didn’t get the tape back to the rental shop in time. Hah. My dad was cursing so much as the tape slowly rewinded. Frankly my dear, he said damn a lot.
True story.
You gotta watch out for those gangs of hummingbirds. They’re trouble. They get eachother all riled up.
One of the best things about the playgroudn is how the kids get to take responsibility for the animals and the buildings and everything. That’s good stuff for a kid to learn.

Plume, was “Gone with the Wind” in English or was it dubbed in Danish? Do you parents understand/speak English?

Debster – It was in English. We generally don’t dub a lot of stuff in Denmark. Only cartoons and kid’s tv sometimes. We subtitle instead.
My dad speaks English. Quite well. My mother knows a few words, but that’s it.
