Glasses Up

Okay then. I went to the optician and got the new lenses for my glasses. So now everything should be fine and dandy. But here is the kicker. They are so strong that I can hardly read stuff that is close to me now. I didn’t discover this until I got back home. Ugh. I hope I just have to get used to the new strength. That it’ll get a little better. But maybe not. Maybe I will just have to use the reading glasses every time I read, not just once in a while to keep my eyes fit. Funny. I wanted new glasses so I could read the computer screen without squinting. Now I can’t read it at all.

Ah well, it’s gotten a little better now, later on in the day. I can read what I’m typing now, that’s something at least. We’ll see. I just wish everything could be easy instead of trouble. Also my head has been hurting. Probably from the new glasses and the switchings and all that. And my jaw, every time I try to open my mouth it hurts. I need to sleep. Rest my eyes.

Jannie called today and asked if we could swap shifts at the playground. So I will be feeding tomorrow. I hope the horses will be on their best behaviour.

Finishing off with three videos.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=oU_4hxxT3Bc. Baahing Mads. I was sitting inside with the goats when Magnethe managed to get the door open. She ran out and so did Vanilje before I got it closed again. Mads didn’t manage to escape. And he was not very happy with that. As I got out to round up the girls he started baaaahing and baahing. I’m not sure if he was complaining about the fact that he didn’t manage to escape or about the fact that he was all alone now. He might put on an act of being all tough and macho but I think he likes the company of the others. After all, there is no one to boss around when he is all alone!

http://youtube.com/watch?v=J6KjBJlPMK8. The lambs. All of a sudden they came running inside. I’m not sure why. Normally they stay with their mamas. Maybe they thought it was feeding time? When they got inside they quickly found that there was no food and then they ran out again. Lots of cute baahing. One of them has that croaking voice. It’s so silly it can’t help but make you laugh.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=vcfZbKTOMRc. Magnethe has figured out how to open and close the hatch now. So she had some fun with that. Or maybe she just couldn’t decide whether she wanted to let the sunshine in or not.

That’s all. Hmm I seem to be able to read better now. Maybe it is just a case of getting used to the new lenses. I can hope.

I’ve been watching your videos. It’s scary that sometimes the horses lick the goats.

    Disturbing.

    Headline: “When Lambs Run Wild”!

Sometimes it takes me awhile to get used to my new lenses when I get them changed. Seems like the first few hours are the worst then it gets better.

Just want to thank you again for having this blog. It is such a relief sometimes to have someone else who is so “goat crazy” as my husband and I. People look at us like we’re nuts when we talk about our cute goats and what they did. Or they sort of roll their eyes when I show them Frankie’s latest picture. (Mmmmm … these people carry around pictures of their goats . . . odd)

Our three goat boys are so special to us and so funny. They surprise us with their silly antics everyday. Thank you so much for sharing about Mads, Magnethe, and Vanilje!

Clare – It is rather odd, isn’t it? I wonder what goes on when I’m not out there…

Debster – I want to thank you for reading this blog. I’m glad there are other goat nuts (no Mads, not that kind of nuts! Get off the keyboard!) out there. Otherwise I’d be rambling on and on with no one listening. It’s amazing how amazing goats can be. It is my mission in life to make the world see the true glory of goats!
