Bullet With Butterfly Wings
Oops. Forgot to take my meds yesterday. Leading to emotional vulnerability and messed up dreams. I am all better now, though. I promise.
I have been meaning to write about the TMU lunch. But yesterday’s med debacle left me very drowsy. And I have been spending too much time playing Two Worlds. Not unlike Oblivion, 3D fantasy game. I got quite excited a couple of days ago when I discovered something called “Old Goat Cave”. Ooh. Unfortunately there wasn’t even a single goat to be found in there, not old, not young, not nothing. Only mean monsters. If I were to make a 3D game I’d populate the world with bunches and bunces of goats. And sheep and lambs and geeselings and horsies and giant bunnies and so on and so forth.
Anyway, back to the lunching. What better way to tell the story than through pictures? It took me a while to gather up the courage to take out my camera and actual snap shots. Here are some selected highlights:
That’s the place where we were feasting. Literally “The Place”. Stedet. It was a nice place.
That’s Maibritt, either illustrating a fishing story or saying something very dirty indeed. She happened to sit down across from me. And she also looked very pretty. She is funny and nice looking and I fancied her a bit. Just two problems. 1: I believe she has a boyfriend. And 2: I am horrible in every conceivable way with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. When you put that together then there is not much chance for romance.
Sorry ’bout the self-deprication there.
Also across from me, next to Maibritt, was Kim who is eating . And.. some other guy.
People were allowed to bring partners and kids. Like that girl. Sweet flowers in her hair.
Next to me was also a little girl. The kids were there mostly because of the trip to Tivoli Friheden after the lunch. All the more unfortunate that it had to be cancelled. Tivoli was closed. Some kind of sound tests. What awful timing. At least someone found out about it that morning, otherwise everyone would have shown up outside Tivoli to find it closed. That would have been even more of a bummer. Anyway, the above picture shows the girl drawing on the table. It had white paper cloth, which at the end of the day was filled with her drawings. I think she was rather bored, and disappointed about the Tivoli thing of course. And her daddy was more in the mood for drinking and partying. There were some awkward cell phone conversations with the mother “..if I had known about it I wouldn’t have brought her”. So that wasn’t too much fun for the girl. She was cute though and everyone was being nice to her. Kim drew a sort of “tattoo” on the table, a heart with her name and flags and stuff. Sweet.
That is Peter, the bossguy. It’s a poor picture but I thought he should make an appearance. He is a good guy and has helped me a lot. He was doing a little speech. And explaining that there would be a replacement trip to Tivoli some time in the future. In August I think he said. I probably will still not be going, but we’ll see when we get there.
“ORDER! ORDER! I WILL HAVE ORDER IN MY RESTAURANTS! … I mean.. may I take your order?”
We only had to order drinks, though. The food was all put on a big table in the center of the room and then you could go up and grab as much as you wanted. I think I had sushi for appetizers actually. I have never had sushi in my life, and never desired to have it. I’m not alltogether sure it was sushi. But it seemed like raw something, fishy, rolled together. Yeah you can tell I’m quite the gourmet connaisseur eh? It was pretty good actually. I have never fancied the idea of raw fish, but it was completely inoffensive. Imagine that. The main course was various cold meats and salads and stuff. Not too shabby.
That is Trine, talking to the table there. She is my contact person at TMU and the person I have spent the most time with. And very nice and helpful too.
A little break in the eating. I sat at the table in the right top corner. You can see the two tables along the wall to the left. And then my table along the back wall. And at the right wall was the table with all the food in the middle. And then another table where most of the teachers were sitting. Nice bottles of wine on all tables. Although everyone drank cola or beer. The drinks were on the house (and by that I mean on the teacher’s house, not on Stedet’s house) so Maibritt and Kim ordered some kind of cocktail thing. Whiskey? I’m not sure. I had three or four glasses of cola. Free is a good price.
That’s Gert. He’s in charge of some of the more “wood and shop” type things at TMU. Packing kites and soldering things and sawing. I did almost none of that so I didn’t spend much time with him. Friendly enough though.
And that’s all. At least all I can be bothered to show you. It was pretty nice. I said almost nothing, but it’s still good to be able to be in the company of others without completely panicking. And a good way to get to say goodbye to everyone.
Coming soon: A wrapup of the official TMU stuff and some status about the future and appartment searching and all that.
Have I mentioned that I have a savings account for when I move out? My parents have been putting away money for me all my life. I am born with a silver spoon in my mouth. Or, at least with a silver tooth pick. There’s a good deal of monies in it. Not millions, but a nice fund. It’s a special account where I get a bonus if I actually spend the money on my new place and moving out and stuff. So that’s neat. Some of it could be for furniture for example. In fact I have bought myself some new furniture today. Ehem. Sort of. I have ordered a 24 inch flatscreen monitor for my computer. Yes, yes. Not the smartest thing in the world to spend money on. But it’s a pretty cheap model, and yet buttkickingly huge and lovely. Hopefully it will last me for the rest of my life. 24 inches, who could possibly ever need anything bigger than that? As the nun said to the pirate with the wooden leg.
Just to add a little animal sprinkles on the update, here is a video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=dFGx_IbSLhA. The lambs. Silly funny cuties. Coupla different scenes. Some boys petting them, some munching on branches, some running to the camera. I especially like the last part where Mini runs right up to the camera and almost smacks her face in it. Bump! At least I think it’s Mini. It’s getting hard to tell sometimes. She’s almost as big as Dotty. And they are both very cute.
Oh did I mention that the Smashing Pumpkins are coming to Denmark? My favourite band of all time. The band that broke up but then comebacked. The soundtrack of my life? You’d think I’d be thrilled, no? But the tickets sold out in 5 minutes. Literally. Plus they were extremely expensive. And it was an evening show in Copenhagen, the logistics would have been difficult for my little socialphobic pea of a mind. But still, I want so badly to see them live. Maybe the next reunion tour they’ll come to Aarhus…
And they better still play Gossamer.

What a wonderful lunch!! It sounds as if you had a great time, and that’s good. I’m terribly happy about the savings account your parents set for you. That will give you enough cash to set up your own household. And anyone who knows how it is to move out, that requires a fair amount of money.
Man, Maibritt is a total hottie! But don’t put yourself down, Plume. Don’t be surprised one of these days when you least expect it, someone like her, charming and beautiful, will be walking down your path.
Sometimes you never know where life will take you…

Plumey, I totally agree with Luis Lemmings! What a big change you’ve made in your life. The pictures were wonderful, I’m so glad you took your camera.
And you tried new foods! My goodness Plumey, you’ve changed a lot in the past few months. I wouldn’t know you if I met you on the street. Oh yes, I would. You’d be the one with the goats, geeselings, piglets, lambies, and horses following you. The Pied Piper of Denmark!

Luis Lemmings – It was the best lunch I have had in a long time. I usually don’t get to sit across from hotties hehe. Maybe one of these days. You never know. I can use the money from my savings account to woo her. Wooh.
Debster – I’m glad I took my camera too. And even gladder that I dared take it ouf of my bag! It is nice to have those memories to keep.
Maybe sushi will be a new addiction. I don’t think I will introduce the goats to it, though. I have a feeling they would rather stay with the trusted old raisins and nuts. But they’re raw too, so it’s a kind of sushi.. yes. HEhe.
