Go Away Serpent From My Door
A quiet Sunday is almost over. One day less in the countdown. My move getting ever closer. Yip, yip, yipee.
I done made another tribute video. This time for Mathilde. I hope you remember her. A sweet, wonderful goat she was. Is. And very defining in my journey into goat-fandom. My reasons for loving goats. Sure Mads and his irresistable personality was a major reason that I started loving goats. And sure seeing Magnethe as the first little goat kid and growing up and being so sweet was instrumental. But thinking about it I think my experience with Mathilde was maybe the most important one. The way I helped her trust humans and she helped me trust myself. She helped me see a value in myself. Something I was good for and good at. And the people at the playground saw it too which lead to me working there and being, dare I say it, respected and liked.
And of course she brought into this world Magnethe and Vanilje, two goats that are currently giving me a lot of joy and happiness. So no doubt that Mathilde deserves a tribute video. I hope she is still happy and doing well where she is now. Sometime in the future I have to try and see if it’s possible to visit her. I mean, it might not even be possible and my phobia could get in the way of a large-scale operation that may be required.. but I would dearly love to say hello to her again. See if she remembers me.
Anyway. The video. Youtube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=wRiwpbiLE7c. But again I must recommend downloading the proper video: tributetomathilde.wmv. That way you can enjoy the photos in fullsize.
A note on the music. It’s another Smashing Pumpkins demo. The Other Side. Which is the demo version of For Martha. Which just happens to be my most favourite song of all time. Originally I had actually chosen that for the Magnethe tribute video. But when I watched the first “draft” it just wasn’t working. It’s a bit of a sad and sentimental song. Martha was Billy’s mother. She died of cancer. Not really a mood that suited the Magnethe video. With Mathilde gone from the playground it feels a bit more right to use it in this one.
Your picture out of time
Left aching in my mind
Yes.
If you missed them here are the two previous tributes: Magnethe + Mads
I have also changed my desktop background. After previously featuring Mads and Vanilje it was naturally Magnethe’s turn.
I love having the goats on my desktop. A constant reminder of what is good in this life.
In other news: I have cancelled my order for the 24″ flatscreen. They kept pushing back the delivery date, I doubt they can even get it after all. Don’t you just hate webshops that list items for sale and then don’t deliver? Pssh. Tomorrow I’m going downtown and picking up a 22″ screen instead. I’ll save a substantial amount of money and still get a good screen. Works for me. I am also probably going to be buying a brandspanking new computer after all. My parents have agreed to buy my old old computer for a slight overprice. As a thankyou for all the computer and internet support I have given them over the years. And given my brother. And will be giving them in the future. If they get computer troubles in the future then I’m the one they’ll be calling for free help. So I think that’s all fair enough. And the money I get for the old old computer I will spend on a new new super computer. Going along with the 22″ screen, I will be in computerhappyland.
I’m still packing. Slowly. A little stuff every day. More and more cardboard boxes popping up. Tick tock the clock is ticking and soon I will fly away on fairy dust and land in my own world.
Soon soon soon!

There’s a episode where a British police officer wishes he had something to make his work go faster. Then a Eric Idle pops up in a fairy costume and says “…and so you shall” in a high woman’s voice, and the police officer is given a wand, and makes cars disappear and magically moves an old woman from one side of the street to another.
They show reruns late at night here and I watch it all the time. I saw the one where they had news for different animals. You talked about it a while back, and that episode makes me laugh all the time.
Why aren’t there news for goats, cats, and lizards??
Did you see the one where there was a man who had three buttocks, or the one where a man could make anything fall asleep…including a brick??
Haaa, haaaa, haaaa!!

Luis Lemmings – Mate, I’ve seen EVERY episode! Even the German ones that I don’t understand a word of! I love the pythons. They crack me up. When I first saw them when I was a kid I thought there was some secret that I had missed, some explanation to why they did these weird things. I was intrigued. I specifically remember seeing the knight in shining armour slapping someone with the dead chicken (was it a rubber chicken? I forget) and I was going out of my mind.. WHY DID HE DO THAT?!? I thought that maybe the premise had been explained in the first episode or something. Years later when I saw the first episode, there was no explanation. But then by then I had stopped looking for one!
Hmm that wand would make my moving much easier. Maybe I shall look for something. I’ll check Wands-R-Us first.

Mathilde’s video was sweet. She seems to be smiling in so many of the photos. I miss her. What a lovely personality she has. And the song fits the photos so well. The goats would be proud of you, Plume.
