And The Plume Played On
A minor miracle happened today. Paprika Pringles turned up in Denmark. I have been looking for them for years and years and years, since tasting them while visiting Skye in the Netherlands. They have never been available in Denmark. Until now. My dad found them in Bilka. He was nice enough to buy a couple of tubes for me. He knew I had been looking and searching. They’re “Red Paprika”, I’m not sure they’re 100% the same. But close enough! Mmm Paprika Pringles. The waiting is over.
I am also well pleased with the card I got from Laura today. Thank you Laura! A beautiful and sweet goat card. What could be better than that?
I have spent most of the day today arranging my music. And even listening to it, as time permitted. I used to have all my music on the old computer, but since I sold that to my parents I needed to bring it all over to my current PC. Today I finally got it all arranged and ready for listening. I was going to install Winamp, but then I found that the media library on Windows Media Player (series 9, nothing new or fancy. What’s it up to these days? Series 11 I think. Pfft) was rather smart. And so I proceeded to make tons of playlists. So now I have a bunch of music all ready to be heard, how sweet a sound it is. All the new Smashing Pumpkins shows. And some old ones to boot. What is the point of music if no one listens to it? If a band falls in the forest when no one is around, does it make a sound? Things to ponder.
On Monday I have a meeting at TMU. See the gang again. I have to give the okay for the papers that Trine have written. So they can be sent on in the system, and hopefully gain me retirement. And I also have to talk to the physio therapisty type person. So that’ll be fun and games. And on Tuesday I’m going furniture shopping again. My dad needs a lamp and asked if I wanted to come along. I could use another table, in the empty spot next to the computer table. And a table next to my bed. Possibly some drawers for clothes. Possibly a TV table. Possibly another shelf. But we’ll see what they have. You know the old “how many clowns can you get into a car” routine? I shall make a “how much furniture can you cram into Plume’s appartment” routine and tour the world. It’s performance art, at least that’s what I’ll say when people look at me puzzled and ask “what’s all this then?”.
What else? I had to buy a new alarm clock. I woke up late (fairly) yesterday and looked at the clock. 0:00 blinking at me. At first I thought there might have been a power outage and that had reset the clock. But turns out the wires were loose. Everytime I pulled at it, it would reset itself and blink at me as if trying to provoke an epileptic attack so it could escape unharmed. No, that’s a weird line of thought. Sorry. Anyway. It’s not like I usually have to get up at a specific time. But I do like to have a working alarm clock, so that I don’t sleep the day away. And on Monday for example I need to get up at a proper time so I can get to TMU at the appointed hour. So I bought myself a new alarm clock. Good thing they’re cheap. I’m buying too many appliances these days. Toasters and ovens and clocks, oh my. Sometimes I feel like moving into a cabin in the woods and just sit by the light of the fireplace and enjoy the silence. Electricity is the devil’s work. But then I probably wouldn’t survive long without a computer. Maybe some day. When society collapses and we have to rebuild everything by hand. Then I’ll take the chance to slip out un-noticed and that cabin will be mine.
I think that’s all for today. May your dust bunnies be happy and leave you little treats of chocolate under your pillows. Aloha.

I had a dust bunnie once as a tiny tot.
It left more than a “treat” under my pillow.
“sigh”

LuisLemmings: did it leave what the Tooth Fairy usually left under your pillow?

Laura – It is so sweet, it made me smile :)
Luislemmings – Uh oh!
Debster – I think the Tooty Fairy sounds like some kind of monster. Leaving teeth under kids’ pillows… Scary!
