My host seems to be having some issues. I was on the verge of panic as the site was down all last night, and some of today. Thankfully it came back up. And I immediately took backups of my databases. Phew. I was getting rather sad at the prospect of possibly losing blog entries and comments made during my big move. Maybe the biggest event of my life, it would kill me if I lost all that. And I’m not necessarily speaking metaphorically. I don’t need no drama, no, no drama. The site has been up and down today, let’s hope the worst is over. I’m brewing on a kitten entry, perhaps for tomorrow. If the blogs are willing.

I lost the whole of my blog once.
I wrote a program which went to the google cache and rewrote the blog for me from the pages there. It was hard work, and some of the foreign characters were wrong, but it worked.
And if that didn’t work, we would have all ganged together to remember what you’d written and re-create it for you, maybe adding a couple of songs, and some dancing girls and an evil goat catcher who you overpowered and saved the goatsies from for added excitement. :)

Is “brewing a kitten entry” like brewing a cup of tea? Wheee!
The evil goat catcher better not come around here. We’d have to call in “Super Plume” to whack him for us.

Man, that would blow big time if all your entries disappeared. I hope you’re able to save them on another source.
I think someone here mentioned that all the entries could be collected and made into an autobiography.
In my opinion, that would be a great idea. There have been very successful tomes of individuals who have very serious disabilities, physical or otherwise.
And there’s no doubt that you have that keen and special ability to write.

Stu – Google cache, that’s a good idea. I wouldn’t have been able to make a program like that. I’d have to copy 600 entries by hand hah. Oh well, I got the database backed up now. So at least the past is safe.
I think my blog could use some dancing girls. Or dancing goats, maybe.
Debster – Don’t be silly, brewing a kitten entry is much more complex! The recipee alone is four pages long! Of course that includes the repeated “oh kitty kitty kitty oh kitty kitty kitty” chants. But still!
LuisLemmings – I have backed up the database, which means that in theory I should be able to recreate the whole blog even if my site got deleted. But let’s hope that doesn’t happen anyway. I remember the autobiography idea. It’s nice in theory. But who could afford the paper to print all that?! But I’m happy to have my whole story (Almost) written down. Maybe some day I can edit a manageable version together. For the grandchildren. Or the grandgoats.
