Climbing To The Moon

I did not sleep well last night. Tossing and turning and hurting back and tingling limbs and people partying outside.

Better now, though. Relaxing day. Had dinner with the whole family. My parents are going away tomorrow. A week in Prague. In the olden days that would have made me excited because I would have gotten to stay home alone. But nowadays I get to stay home alone all the time. Life is good.

Tomorrow is visitation day. Then Tuesday I have to go to TMU to pick up my rewards for doing their site. I booked a laundry time on Saturday, couldn’t get anything before that. Not if I wanted to do it at 10. Which I do. Also I have to call the housinge organization to arrange a time when the super can stop by and go over my list of “grievances”. The syn, you know. I don’t really want any of the faults fixed. I can live with worn down floors and splotches on the wall. The place needs to be painted, but I’d rather not go to the trouble. I just need all the faults to be noted so they don’t try to pin them on me when I move out some day in the future. I’m quite nervous about it, though. Having a stranger come inside and look at my appartment. But it will be nice when it’s over. I thought they had forgotten all about it really. Been two months. I was getting ready to phone them up and ask them about it. Just goes to show that you should never do today what you can postpone till next month.

My internet keeps dropping out, so I better post this and be on my merry way.

I haven’t been sleeping all that well either. It’s due to “someone” who won’t go to the doctor for their bronchitis, so they cough, cough, cough all night long. Why are men soooo stubborn?

Sounds like you have a busy week planned. Do your parents need to have someone look in on their place while they’re gone? My parents went on a short trip and we picked up the mail, newspaper, and fed their kitties while they were gone. Maybe you could help out your mom and dad next time they go somewhere. (Or maybe I need to come over to watch your parents’ place when they’re gone! Pushy American girl! hee, hee)

Plumey, I think you and I better get our respective flags out and head to the Arctic while there is still some unclaimed ice! Heard in the news that all the major countries are headed there to claim land for oil exploration. Hurry up, Plumey, we don’t want to be late!

One reporter was in Greenland and it didn’t look too nice. Lots of wind and snow and he said he’d never been so cold. Was your Dad in a really cold area of Greenland when he was there? It was about -20 F (-28 C) with the wind chill factor when they were reporting the story. Too cold for me.

Take a look at this little story – it’ll make you smile:

Debster – It’s a good thing you said “someone” and not “someones” or I would have suspected the goats!
My brother and I have promised to look in on the house while my parents are gone. I stopped by today to get my copy of Tips-bladet, a soccer-related newspaper. It still gets delivered to my mother’s address, even though it’s actually for me. But then my dad likes to read it too, so we haven’t changed the subscription. My dad gets it and reads it first and then drops it off at my place or I go and pick it up. Anyway, yes I’ll make sure to change the air around in their place while they’re gone.
I’d like to claim a piece of the Arctic. A cold, snowy one. I’d even settle for one without any oil! They can spare that, cant they?
Greenland is huge and diverse, depends on the time of the year too, how cold it is. I don’t think it was quite that bad where my dad worked.

Desiree – That’s too sweet! If dogs and cats can get along like that then why can’t humanity look past skin colour etc? We have a lot to learn.
