He Card Read Good
So, I have been talking about a christmas surprise for you guys. And it is done now. Don’t get all excited, it’s nothing amazing. Just a little multimedia christmas card.
The last couple of years I have sent out homemade papercards. But this year I don’t happen to be working in an office with DTP equipment and semi-professional printers anymore. Plus, my economy is a little unsure until I know if I get my retirement or not, so paying for cardboard and postage and everything didn’t seem like quite as good an idea, what with me being Scrooge and all. And finally I wasn’t sure how popular those cards happened to be in the first place. Personally I love the idea of making them from scratch and putting the animals in them and everything. I was kind of imagining people collecting them and getting together in 20 years and going “oh you have the 2009 one, that’s rare! And look at the 2013, how funny it is!”. But I have a feeling that they probably end up in the bin when all is said and done. But anyway. Next year I’m pretty sure I’ll go back to sending out old-fashioned cards. This year? Multimedia.
Here you go, from Plume with love:
Go on, open it! I hope youle like it!
It didn’t turn out completely perfect. I ran low on time. And it’s hard to get goats to do what you want! I’m not sure I got the card/background itself to work perfectly either. It works on my machine, but with different browsers and window sizes it might get messed up. If it looks odd, try maximising the window. But anyway, the video is the important thing. I recommend downloading the hiquality version to properly enjoy it.
Merry christmas everybuddies!

It’s always the thought that counts and never the gift itself. So don’t worry yourself for not getting us a homemade card. I just saw the video and I absolutely loved it!!
I don’t have any sound on my computer–after hitting it with my golf club a few times last year, I think it’s mad at me. But I could imagine the goats saying “Merry Christmas” to us.
I always get a big kick of seeing the goats and the other animals, and to see them moving is pretty neat.
Also, next year, smile at the camera. Don’t be shy. You’ve got fans all over the world.
Thank you again for the video. I’m going to download it onto my computer and keep if forever…or until my computer attacks me with my own golf clubs.
Finally, mailed out a xmas card to you and a little gift so keep an eye out for it. I hope they arrive in Denmark before Christmas. Man, the post office was awfully crowded this morning, and the line was long. But oddly enough everyone was in a good mood.
Help me, Debster–I’m going to Walmart and Target tomorrow to finish my Christmas shopping. If you guys don’t hear from me, send out a search party!

That was awesome!
As a receiver of your home made cards I would like to let you know that I still have both of mine and I treasure them.
Thanks for the virtual card, it was super sweet.

That’s great! Merry Christmas to you, too!

Nice Christmas card, Plume. Even though the goats speak Danish, I could understand them! (The subtitles were a nice touch, though. hee, hee)
Must have been easier to get the “Big Goat” to wear the Santa hat this year. Figured you must have had to give out lots of nuts and raisins to the Christmas crew.
LuisLemmings: Our “search and rescue goats” are on standby if we don’t hear from you again. We know how people in California wander off in search of Christmas trees and stay lost for several days! (Glad that story had a happy ending, all kidding aside.)

Rumor has it they did it on purpose to get the news coverage and then get free stuff.
For a family that is supposed to know their way around that part of California, it seems rather “odd” that they would get “lost” while looking for a Christmas tree.
Points to ponder…

OMG, LuisLemmings: What a mean thing for them to do. Think of all the rescue workers and the time they spent looking for them. By the way, your info on this stuff rivals Geraldo Rivera or Greta Van Susteran.
Do you know what happened to Natalie Holloway? Or what that Stacey Peterson has done with all his wives? Or why our goat John Boy tilts his head back and shows a tiny little bit of his bottom teeth when I scratch his rump?

I know I don’t write much anymore, but I still read regularly. I LOVE this card. It’s the best one I’ve gotten all year! Thanks so much! I loved this just as much as your homemade card!

And a Merry Christmas to you too, Plume. What a fab card!
You were supposed to get a real life card in the post, but my wee girl’s been (and still is) really, really poorly, so none of the inland Christmas cards have been sent this year. Bad on me, but there you are. I’m still very pregnant, in case you were wondering. Today’s my due date, but fortunately (and I never thougth I’d say that) he’s not yet born. With Raven being so poorly I’m quite glad I’ve only got her to look after at the moment. Just hoping she’ll be well for Christmas now – and then maybe you’ll get a late Christmas card in the post. Depends a little on Arthur, tho;)
What kind of mother am I, blaming my kids for everything like that, eh!? ;)

Hi, Desiree! You are probably a worn-out, worried Mom. That’s what kind of Mom you are. Hope Raven is better soon before you’re ready to go to the hospital for your next one.

LuisLemmings – I’m glad you liked the video! If only I could send a proper paper card with video embedded. Maybe the technology already exists, I just have to wait for it to get cheap enough!
You know, speaking as a golf guru, I have a tip to improve your game a lot: don’t bring your computer to the course!
I’ll keep an eye out for the mailman. Hmm, they wear red uniforms don’t they? I wonder if they get mistaken for santa. At least around christmas.
I hope you have survived your christmas shopping. I hadn’t heard of the case you and Debster is talking about, but I know how hazardous a shopping mall can be. It’s a minefield, it is.
Belinda – Thank you! And you’re welcome. You keep those cards in mint condition, they’ll be worth a lot in 50 years! Or.. 150. Maybe try cashing them in in 500 years, you’ll hit the jackpot!
Stu – Merry christmas m8!
Debster – I figured I had to put subtitles on it for those unfortunate people who don’t speak goat! I think they should teach goat in school, it’s important to be able to understand the universal truths spoken by our hoofy friends.
My original plan was to make a paper card with a picture of myself in the santa hat and the goats looking at me with a caption that said something like “hah, this year we made HIM wear the hat!”. I figured it was my turn. And it’s remarkably easier to get a big Plume to do what you want in front of the camera than those stubborn goats!
I love when Magnethe shows a bit of teeth. She often does when she stretches her neck, it sort of looks like her skin is just a little too short so when she stretches then her skin is stretched and her mouth pulled open a little. If you know what I mean.
Julie – thank you Julie, I’m glad you’re still reading and that you liked the card!
Desiree – Wow, you’re due! It’s amazing how time flies when you’re having fun. And babies! Don’t worry about the card, if you can wait for the stork then I can wait for the mail! I hope Raven will be doing better soon. I wonder how she’ll take it, when she gets a little baby brother. I’m sure they’ll be a handful, but a beautiful one for sure. Merry christmas to all in the family! I can’t wait to hear more in the future!
