Wide Load
Remember how I’m all rich and stuff now? I decided to spend some money on a DVD recorder today. I think that’s what it’s called in English. In Danish we call it hard drive recorder. Cause it’s got a hard drive. Which makes sense. Basically it’s like that TiVo thing you have in America, only we don’t have the whole TiVo system. But it records from the TV to a hard drive. And burns on DVDs. So that’s handy. I have some old VHS stuff I want to transfer to the computer. Maybe you guys will get some old Plume homevideos some time. You never know.
I bought the recorder in Bilka. Which meant I had to change busses. At the playground. So naturally I had to stop in and see if there were goat babies. There were no goat babies. But this week, I’m sure it must happen this week!
Aw Magnethe. She’s so wide she can barely get through the hatch now!
It was raining a little so I figured they’d be inside. And Mads was. He saw me and baahed and came up to the door. Then Vanilje peeked in through the hatch to see what was going on. She saw me and baahed and jumped in. Then Magnethe came to the hatch and saw me and baahed and stuck her front legs in… and then gave up on the rest and staid outside. Poor girl, I’m sure she’s looking forward to dropping those saddle bags.
After seeing the goats I went off to Bilka and bought the recorder. I managed to do a little good deed as well. Once I had paid for my shoppings at the counter I went out back to pick up the recorder itself. There were a couple of people standing in queue. I took a number and got in line. The woman ahead of me saw that and went “oh no”. She hadn’t taken a number when she got in line. So now she went over and took a number. That would mean that I was actually in front of her in the queue system. But I asked her if she wanted to swap numbers, since she was actually there before me. Fair and square. She said I was kind. Not that it was a great deed of any sort. I don’t deserve a lot of credit for letting her have her rightful place in the queue. But the thing I like is that I was able to go up to a stranger and offer the number exchange. That wasn’t easy for me to do. So hopefully the cosmos will give me a little credit for that. I’m trying to be a good person when I can.
I almost missed my bus on the way home. That would have been a kick in the teeth from karma, now wouldn’t it? Hehe. But all is swell that ends well. And I now have a shiny new toy to play with. So far it’s working out good. I was a little worried about how complicated it would be, but I have managed to set it up and get it working. And I did a little test record from the telly and transfered it to the computer and it all looks good. Assuming I can get my VHS hooked up to the recorder then I am happy about the whole thing.
Now it’s cold and I am tired. Time to retire under the sheets.

That’s a sweet toy! Man, think of all the things you could record. What a great thing to buy!
You know, we don’t get Danish tv here except for very select cable packages. It would be interesting to see how things are on your part of the world.
Poor Magnethe! She could barely fit through the little door. Let’s hope she gets birth soon. It must be uncomfortable carrying those babies around.
That was really nice of you. Scoring points with the Big Guy upstairs never hurts. Plus, good karma begets good karma.
Haunted goat farm? Well, it’s better than a haunted clown farm.

Poor Magnethe, she must feel awful. I hope the babies decide to be born soon.
That was nice what you did for the lady in the queue! You are getting pretty good at this whole doing nice things for people and talking to them. Way to go, Plumey.
The ghost goats would fly, wouldn’t they? That would be way cool. Would they have sheets over their heads? And make scary baaaas?

PS: I mailed a birthday card out for Mads. Sshh…don’t tell him, I mailed it early to make sure it would get there by March 15th.

LuisLemmings – We have the best kid’s tv in the world. At least we did when I was a kid. So many great memories. And no terrorist bunnies either.
I think Magnethe is good and ready to get the kids out. And I’m good and ready too!
Debster – I hope so too. For her sake. Yes. Not for my own. Nope. Not because I want to meet the little adorable ones. No no.
I think the ghost goats would eat the sheets. Or at least chew on them for a while. Well as long as there aren’t any vampire goats. Cause then I’d have to have garlic there. Eeeurgh.
I’m sure Mads will love the card. Especially if it tastes good!
