Here Is Not Why
Okay, okay, okay. Imagine a picture from the playground. With four goat kids. Two black-heads and two brown-heads. And imagine me saying that we succesfully cloned Magnethe’s babies. You know, like Dolly the sheep. Only cuter cause goats are the best.
Imagining that? Okay. Now imagine me saying APRIL FOOLS! That would have been awesome. And I would have totalled photoshopped it if I hadn’t been distracted by… oh let’s say that purple thing bouncing in the corner.
But next year. You better watch out on April 1st next year. Then I’ll get something done.
Yesterday I did not get a lot done at all. It was laundry day. I had booked the laundry room at 10 am. But when I woke up I didn’t feel well. Very tired and groggy. I’m going to blame daylights savings time. That must have messed up my sleeping pattern, yes. That sounds likely. I ended up sleeping most of the day. So it goes.
Today I made sure to go to the playground and see the goat kids. Because seeing the goat kids is what I do.
Don’t you see? They are worth watching. Funny thing happened on the bench, later. Vanilje was standing on it. Then little brown-head jumped up next to her. And the bench tilted over. It made me laugh, that the little goat kid was what tipped it over while big Vanilje had had no problems.
Mads chilling in the background. It seems that little black-head has gotten an official name. Lakrids has stuck. Liquorice. I like that very much. I suggested Caramel for the other babygirl, but it seems that the playground has had a goat named Caramel before. So brown-head is still looking for a name. Maybe I’ll suggest Louisa, next time I build up courage to talk to the humans!
Isn’t she adorable?
Her face is so cute. Her colouring isn’t as unusual as Lakrids’s, but she has a softer look to her. I like to think of her as the cute one and Lakrids as the beautiful one. But I love them both, equally.
And they don’t seem to mind me too much either.
They have started growing horns, very small buds on top of heir heads. Sometimes if I put my hand on their head they’ll start pushing against it. I’m still stronger than they are (that’ll change soon enough) but I always let them “win”. They really like being scratched too. I love when I scratch them on the head and they push into the scratch and you can just see how much they enjoy it. They’re picking up all the little mannerisms that makes goat so wonderful. Using their hind legs to scratch behind their ears. Chewing on their own fur and hooves. I tried giving them some halfed raisins but they can’t really eat them yet. They’ll chew excitedly for a few seconds and then it’ll drop out of their mouth. But they are munching on hay a bit. Of course it’s very different from the adults munching. The adults take a mouthful and crunchcrunchcrunch. The kids take a single strand of hay and attack it for a while. I’m not sure if they actually get it down. But luckily there’s plenty of milk from momma.
Differences between them? Brownie likes to be held more. They always climb on me and jump up on my legs and so on, and I will grab a hold of them. Sometimes they’ll settle down in my embrace. And sometimes they’ll squirm because they are so full of jump that they can’t sit still for long. And most of the time Lakrids doesn’t want to be held still. She’ll squirm free and jump away. Then turn around and jump right back up on me. Brownie is still the biggest. And she never sneezes. Lakrids sneezes. When she investigates things she’ll put her nose right in them and then give off a sneeze or two. Like in the snow video.
If I could live in these moments forever I would not mind it at all.

You must be a mind reader. I was just going to ask if the girls had little horn buds coming on yet.
You can certainly tell who their father is from their long, long ears. They are sooo cute at this stage. Well, actually at any stage!

Debster – I do read minds. But don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone about the noodle incident.
I just love how their ears are longer than their heads. I could just tie them in ribbons and bows.

I bet Mads is glad his ears are shorter! He wouldn’t like ribbons and bows.
