Hurricane Goat
I have been sleeping too much lately. But I can’t help it. In my sleep there is no sadness. No tiredness (go figure).
In between the sleeps I found time to feed the animals at the playground.
Thor and Magnethe, very eager to be fed. They were so eager that they busted out. I opened their door to go in with the food. And immediately they were all trying to run out. Instead of fighting them I figured I’d let them run out and then get them back in with the food. Of course I had forgotten that I had brought a bucket of food for the bunnies and chickens. It was standing in the hallway. So when I let the goats out they immediately ran to that bucket and started eating from it. Oops. Then I tried to wrestle the bucket from them… which resulted in all the food going all over the floor. Oops again. There is no force that can stop a hungry goat. Oh well, I got the goats back inside and gave them their proper food. And then went back to get new food for the bunnies and chickens. And it all worked out just fine.
Ask Vanilje if you don’t believe me.
Then I topped it all off with some hay, which is good for eating and for standing on top of. Do please note the grey bunny in the trough.
And now I’m going to go back to bed. I am not worried. Sleeping is perfectly healthy. For 80% of the day. I’m sure.

Hee, hee. That grey bunny shows up in the oddest places. He evidently has no fear of the other animals or they just ignore him.
We have a feeding frenzy here sometimes. When we’re letting the donkey and goats run together, come feeding time, any food is up for grabs.
Insteading of the “running of the bulls”, we have the “running of the goats” and “donkey”.
Snickers was being a little too playful last night and she nipped me on the inside of my arm (yes, in the tender spot). So now I have a small “donkey hickey” on my right arm.
We pinch her nose (lightly) or tap her on the shoulder or back when she does this, as we don’t want a nippy donkey girl. I also say “NO” loudly and point my finger at her.
It’s a little like have a puppy or kitten who nips/scratches when they are playing. They grow out of it eventually. With Snickers, I hope it is sooner rather than later!

Debster – Yesterday my dad refered to the goats as “the donkeys”. I guess it’s a step up from llamas!
Is there such a thing as obedience school for donkeys? That would be an interesting job!

Maybe your Dad is getting telepathic messages from me about my little donkey, Snickers?
Weirder things have happened!
Yes, Snickers needs some obedience about nipping. We had to let the goatzie boys know who was the “Alpha Goat” right away.
Of course, Billy thinks he is the alpha goat when we aren’t outside with the others.

Debster – Maybe he’s getting telepathic messages from ME, since I’m rather fond of Snickers too hehe!
I’m sure Billy thinks he’s the alpha goat all the time, he just prefers to “delegate the responsibility” when you guys are around!
