The Rules Of Hesitation
The vent people came today. And checked the vents. I think the vents are okay. It only took a few minutes and wasn’t too bad. That should clear my obligations for the near future. Now I only have to worry about that Greenland trip. But let’s not think about that right now.
I stopped by the playground yesterday. It started raining just as the goats were let out.
Magnethe was not impressed and didn’t seem to want to come out. It helped a bit when Alice came with a loaf of bread, though.
That got them to come out.
A bunny wanted to take part in the feast too. I was expecting the goats to chase it away, but I guess they didn’t mind sharing this time. Now I’ve seen it all.
I had brought my squirt bottle and was planning to see if I could teach Magnethe not to be so wild. What did she decide to do? She decided to not be wild at all. You can never count on those darn goats to do as you expect. I don’t know if it was the slight drizzle from above or the loaf of bread on the ground or if she was just in a good mood. But she didn’t play any dominance games at all. Not even when the bread was all gone and the drizzle had dried out. So my squirt bottle remained in my bag and I settled for just socializing instead.
I think her winter coat is starting to come in. Getting a little pale and thicker fur.
And as Alice noted, her belly is starting to get that triangular shape… hoping for kids at the end of the year.
And hopefully lambs sooner. White sheep coming close, black sheep backing off slightly. I didn’t get to ask their names. I talked to Alice, Kurt and Per. And still didn’t manage to do it. I am much better at socializing with goats.
She’s been sick, the black one. Kurt told us. But she’s better now. So that’s good. She’s sweet, but still insecure. I’m trying to get her more used to the human touch. But it takes time of course.
There’s always time. And now it’s time to go.

Wow, don’t you just feel better after a good vent inspection? Clears the cobwebs out.
For heavens sake, Plume. Just ask the sheepies what their names are! Otherwise, I will have to pin a note to your coat to ask Alice and Kurt what their names are. (Go ask Alice when you’re ten feet tall. Isn’t that an old Jefferson Starship song?)
Hey, I wouldn’t mess with that big gray bunny either. Here you go, bun. Have a piece of my bread! Our goats are surprisingly accepting of the occasional wild rabbit that runs thru their pen or makes a nest under their spools.
I think rabbits have telepathic capabilities. Maybe the goats pick up on that. I think the goats can read my mind sometimes.
It’s funny that your goats get lighter/paler in color in the winter and Billy, our goat gets much darker in the winter. His legs get black, his face gets browner, and he gets much fluffier. The other two stay the same color, just get fluffier.
Remember, I told you to only worry about the Greenland trip for a couple of days. Times up! Take action and make a list of what you want to pack, get batteries for the camera, some snacks for the trip, or maybe a book to read. Doing beats worrying anytime.

I’m sending your “goods” today, dear Santa. Let me know if you don’t receive them within the next couple of days.
I’m glad you didnøt have to use the squirty bottle though I was secretly looking forward to Magnete’s response *hee-hee*
Are there actually any daycare fascilities left in your hood, now, Plume? The poor littl’uns must be absolutely terrified!
Speaking of littl’uns, if you get bored and wish to indulge in a load of badly taken and over exposed photos of my dear kids, please feel free to drop by ;)

Debster – It is always good to vent.
Go ask Alice when she’s ten feet tall.. the Pumpkins did an ace cover of that one. Aaanyway. I’ll do my best to ask. I wish I knew someone who could do.. what’s it called.. ventriloquism. As long as they didn’t have to stick their hand up my butt. Aaanywah, again.
Come to think of it I think Magnethe must be a chameleon goat. She probably gets paler because she’s expecting snow. Last year she got almost white. She just wants to camouflage herself I guess. But then shouldn’t Vanilje get darker in summer? Hmmmm.
I’ll try not to worry too much. Distractions, must find distractions.
Desiree – I’ll keep an eye on the mailbox. Did you know they are closing the post office here in Gellerup? Bastards. They have this new “helheds plan” or whatever, they want to make it a vibrant and attractive neighbourhood.. and then they close down the post office. What a frigging brilliant idea. Post Danmark, eh. *eyeroll*
We’ll see how Magnethe reacts when the squirt bottle gets to see some action. I’m sure it won’t be long. Unless she has reformed herself without my intervention. Who knows.
There are still daycares left yes. In fact there are two very close to me (not counting the apartment next door) and they have so far been left untouched. But the way things are going who knows how long that’ll last..
I’m going to head off and look at your pictures now. You have the nicest family I know. But don’t tell my parents I said that!

*hee-hee* Thank you for your lovely comment on my little self-indulgent picture post. Now that I love them again, I just had to share their fabulousness.
Funny you should talk of post offices closing, because I actually stopped in to tell you that when I got to the post office at about 15 yesterday, it was closed. They close at 13. What’s that about? What do working ppl do, I ask!? Today there’s something akin to a proper autumn storm and basically I don’t know if I’ll be able to get out (which sucks also because Adam has taken the last biscuits to work with him leaving me without any processed, sugary foods in the house!!!). Anyways, I shall let you know when the parcel has actually been sent rather than preempting my actions as my actions are not always substantiatable by outer forces such as Post Danmark *spits*
Oh, and can I just take the opportunity to complain about the Danish keyboard yet again??? I shall probably never get used to the position of the Ø versus the ‘
I truly hope the next door kindergarten will not be set on fire. I can’t believe quite how many daycare fascilities you have in your area in the first place, tho!

Desiree – Feel free to share them anytime, I always enjoy it a lot.
Maybe I should mail you some biscuits? Or I’ll ask Santa to do it. Did you say that Santa has prostitutes? I never knew. Maybe the trip will be more interesting than I had thought..
Another fire tonight. Not in a kindergarten this time though. But in a basement, two blocks up. Geez oh geez.
