No Distance

Happy valentines. I hope you’re with someone who makes you feel safe in your sleep tonight.

Me? I’m spending my evening watching some stranger on the internet play through Might & Magic 3. And later I will go to bed with a good book. Using it as a pillow, I mean. I obviously can’t read it.

Well most of the snow we got late Friday night has melted. So everything is still soggy and crunchy depending where you walk.

We had walkies for the critters this afternoon. It was sunny, but cool and a bit windy. The goatzies and the donkey were just eating up the new grass. Crunch, crunch, crunch.

We had walked up the yard a ways and John Boy was still down by the apple tree polishing his horns. I yelled at him to come on up and join us.

When he looked around and saw he was alone, he came running up the hill as fast as he could. His hair was flying in the wind and he sure looked beautiful. He stuck fairly close to all of us after that.

Everyone ate a little more grass and then it was time to head back to the barn. John Boy and Billy were leading the pack with Frankie, my husband, and me and Snickers following.

John Boy would stand up on his hind legs and do a mock head butt to whoever happened to be close by. He was feeling good today. Then they all had a nice drink of warm water from the yellow bucket.

We ordered a take-out pizza for our supper. Watching goatzies and the donkey eat hay made us hungry!

Katrine: Thanks for the link! That was great. I was able to watch #2 & #3 baby goatzies being born. I had to leave for an hour or so, but it sounds like mama Puzzle had a total of 4 babies. That was really interesting.

Plume: did you get to see any of the babies being born? That’s why we don’t raise goats. I just would be in the barn all the time and worried about my mamas. I couldn’t sell anybody either. We’d be over-run with goats!

hey about the books.. i dont know how bad it is exactly with your eyes now.. but there are ofcourse special books.. with bigger fonts, bigger libaries have reasonable collections of those.. and if that doesnt work for you you might want to try daisy-rom. you can listen those on a daisy player. if you ever want any help with this i can help you figure out how this works in dk.
hope you ve had a good weekend even though it was valentines day ;)

Debster – That is a sweet story. Reading it was like being there myself. I’m still jealous of the yellow bucket though.
I was able to catch the 3 first births. I was a little worried when the two boys wanted to get out at the same time, but it all worked out. I have never seen a live birth before. Of any species I think. Quite amazing.

Katrine – Thank you so much! That made my day. Beautiful babies. i was there just in time for the births as well. Awesome!

hanne – Oh yes, hadn’t thought of that. If my eyesight doesn’t get better soon then maybe I’ll look into that. I’ll get back to you if I need help with it. Always handy to know a librarian!
