Pinching Eyes
(google cache)
I got a letter from the hospital today. My cataracts operation has been postponed from the 12th to the 29th. Due to staff shortage. So that’s annoying. I guess it doesn’t matter that much, since the cataracts are the least of my sight problems. But still, it means waiting longer for everything to settle and for the chance to see if the operation will do any little good. Longer wait before we can start to think of what to do next.
But nothing to do but wait.
I don’t think my eyesight has gotten worse today. Count your blessings.
I did have some trouble with the mashed potatoes though. I made them from powder. I know that’s not the healthiest thing to do, but I did have carrots and salmon also, I swear. Anyway, the days when I could read the instructions from packages are long gone. So I did it from memory. I did get the measurements right, but I forgot when to add the cold water, and so ended up with too little water for the powder. Not surprisingly that sort of ruined it all. But at least it was still sort of edible. Just not very good.
Oh how I wanted to order a pizza. Or eat my sugarfree licquorice. Or have a krydderbolle or a sugarfree soda. I am denying myself it all. Are you still being strong if you moan and whine about it? Hmm.

What kind of pizza had you tried? Are you going to try something different next time?
We like the Canadian Bacon (ham) and mushroom. Taco pizza (hamburger, tomato, lettuce, cheese, and salsa) is good.
We had a Chicken Alfredo pizza one time that was good. Had chunks of white chicken with a creamy white Alfredo sauce instead of the usual tomato sauce.
You need a tape recorder thingy to talk into for recipes. Have your Mom or Dad read the measurements onto the tape for mashed potatoes and save it for future reference.
We all had nice walkies tonight after work. Goatzies and donkey girl just love all the nice grass and weeds to eat. We stopped over to see Snickers’ mama and the new half-brother earlier today.
He’s growing big already. The other three mama donkeys are doing well. The one that was shy remembered us and came trotting right over for pets and scratches today.
I told her someone must have loved her lots before as she likes her ears scratched and she sighs and moves closer now to us. I think she almost smiles. She’s lighter brown almost a reddish color.
The other darker female (with dreadlocks on her forehead) is not shy about asking for scratches. She comes up from behind and nudges you in the rear when she wants attention. She did it to me and my husband.
I heard “Whee” from my husband and I said did the Rasta (dreadlock) donkey just get you? Yes, it was her alright!

Debster – I had a pizza margherita. With just cheese and tomato sauce. And I selected bacon as an extra. Nothing fancy. If I ever allow myself to get junk food again (which I’m sure I will) then it’ll probably be just about the same thing. I don’t want it too fancy, in the fear that somehow something oniony will slip in.
I have written the mashed potato recipe down in a book with big fat letters. I hope that’ll suffice for now. Anyway, I did sorta remember it, I just got the order wrong.
Rasta, the dreadlock donkey. That is just awesome. I love that!
Milla – Two words:
Thank you, Milla, did you know I can’t count at all hmm how many words was that?

You know, you can always say: “No onions” on any of your pizzas.
I’m going to call the reddish-brown donkey “Sarah”. We saw her again today and she trotted right over for scratches. She’s a sweetheart and now she will make eye contact with me.
We had nice walkies with the goatzies and donkey girl tonight. Snickers has learned a new trick by watching the goatzies. The goats stand up on their hind legs to try to reach the lower apple tree branches which are filled with leaves.
So now Snickers tries to rear up on her back legs to get to the upper branches. It is really funny to watch her. Now the goats like to lean on something to keep their balance (like me) when they’re standing on their hind legs.
Hope Snickers doesn’t try that with me! Although Frankie tried to keep his balance by placing his front feet on Snickers. Boy, was she surprised and Frankie didn’t stay there for long.
I think my legs will have have tiny hoof-shaped bruises from the goatzies. John Boy, trying to get my attention, was even pawing my leg like he wanted to shake hands.

Debster – I know, but when it comes to onions I trust no one. The more ingredients the bigger the chances of onions. Or something that looks like onions. Or smells like onions. Or tastes like onions. But it’s ok, I prefer to keep it simple anyway. I like a simple pizza.
Sarah sounds very sweet. There’s something special about getting closer to a shy animal like that.
Hah, I can just imagine Snickers trying to climb you.. the other day I was watching some of my old youtube videos, and in one of them (christmas card outtakes I think) I was coaxing Magnethe to jump up with her front legs against me. And when she did I pretty much fell backwards, beause she’s so huge of course. Good times.
