While We Wait

It is the day before the day. Christmas is almost here.

In Denmark we celebrate on the 24th of course, you all remember that I am sure. As previously mentioned I shall be celebrating with the family. Nothing fancy, just a little food and presents and that’ll be that.

It turns out that uncle Jens won’t be coming by car. Apparently it is malfunctioning. And also the weather has been atrocious. Big snowstorms. So he won’t be driving me. But I’ll be taking a taxi instead. It seems a little wasteful for a 30 minute walk. But in the snow in the dark I am not worth much these days.

Other than that I am sure it will all be good fun. I am a little worried aobut my stomach though. I have had constipation problems again. And yesterday I was going to start taking medication for it. Then I got diarrhea. So it seems I’m either not going to the bathroom at all or going all the time. But we’ll see how I feel tomorrow. Christmas dinner is the biggest meal of the year. It could get explosive…. nuff said.

I hope you’re all going to have a nice holiday and a happy christmas with your loved ones, and some festivus for the rest of us. Have fun.

PS. I just saw Jason Segel performing the full version of Dracula’s Lament on Craig Ferguson’s show. So now I am happy. It is the best vampire puppet song I have ever heard.

Merry Christmas to you! We will be going over to my Mom and Dad’s on Christmas eve as well.

My sister and husband are bringing chili soup and we’re bringing vegetable beef soup. We’ll have crackers, cheese, and bread to go with it. For dessert will be a cherry cheesecake after we’ve opened presents.

It has been raining here. Further north in the state it has been snowing or icy. It’s been enough above freezing here so it’s just rain. Although they’ve been calling for some minor flooding in low-lying areas.

My husband wanted a German chocolate cake with pecan/coconut frosting, so I’m baking him a cake as we speak.

Will soon be time to chore the animals. Don’t think there will be walkies tonight as it’s still drizzly and goatzies won’t walk in the rain. They sure enjoyed getting out when there was snow on the ground. Lots of little hoof prints with the occasional rabbit and kitty cat track.

There were the cutest little bird tracks in a bit of snow on the front porch earlier this week. The kitties must be doing their job as I haven’t seen the even tinier mousie tracks.

Makes a person wonder about all the animal traffic going on in the yard and porch. We used to have cats that liked to tromp on the wooden front porch floor. It would sound like a small herd of elephants milling about.

Guess they like to hear themselves make noise as they are usually silent when walking on the grass.

Hope you have a good day with your family on Christmas eve!

Debster – Merry christmas Deb! It sounds like it will be very nice. I wonder what I should do to get you to bake me a cake? MMm. I miss cakes.
I almost had to cancel christmas today though, due to my stomach being very poorly. But I managed to go and had a good time. I wore your socks, your shirt and your cap. And by that I mean, the things you have given me, I don’t mean that I raided your closet and stole your clothes and wore them to my family christmas. Although thinking about it, that sounds like something I might try next year!

Merry Christmas Plume! Sorry you’re not feeling too well. Hope that changes soon. It can give you an excuse to curl up under some blankets & have a nice relaxing day maybe =)

I love Jason Segel & that vampire puppet thing was indeed awesome!

This is the first year I really celebrated some of Christmas on the 24th. I stayed up ’til 5 am. (I guess I couldn’t sleep because of the excitement of Christmas & a whole week off from work & everything). Then I had to wake up at 7AM to go see my niece celebrate her first Christmas. She is 9 months old but was a pretty quick learner when it came to opening presents! Now I’m at work. Yes, they made us work Christmas Eve, its silly. But I only have to work 3 hours today, after that I shall be on the road to see the family & then without the internet for over a week! Its crazy I know. I hope you have a great holiday season & stay warm & feel better.

Glædelig jul, Plume! Arthur LOVES his backpack and immediately filled it with stuff and walked around like the proudest little Thomas fan ever! Just gorgeous. Raven was in some sort of trance and simply didn’t see her presents – well, she saw the presents, but the contents not so much. I’m hoping tomorrow won’t be quite so frenzied and she’ll be able to enjoy her gifts. ;) It was all very good, though, and we had a lovely evening. I also had some very special presents and I hope you did, too.

Sending you heaps of hugs and best wishes. x

I wondered where that pink feathered boa was, Plume. Now I know…you were wearing it! hee, hee

Happy Holidays, Plume! Sending big bear hugs

Traci – I hope you’re having a festive christmas. And your niece too. Kids on christmas is a sweet thing. And adults too when they get excited :)
Hope you survive being without internet for a bit, it sounds scary to me!

Desiree – I hope you’re feeling better now. Thank you for the christmas report. It sounds like a lovely time. I can just imagine Arthur strutting around. If he doesn’t get to grow up to be a dinosaurus forsker then perhaps he’ll become a very important business-man, strutting around with a very important briefcase full of very important things. I think he’d be good at that!
My mother came round for a visit today and took a look at your calendar. She thought it was quite lovely I think. Thanks again! Hope your family will have a nice time up to new year’s now.

Debster – I was the star of the party!

Milla – Happy hols and hugs to you too
