Donny, Marie And Kierkegaard

It’s been a couple of nice, summery days. Warm and sunny. Feels good.

I spent yesterday with goats. And today with Lost. I won’t bore you with Lost, but maybe a little goats….

I had a really good time with the goats. A kindergarten class was visiting, and they all enjoyed it a lot when I had the kids standing on my back. And I held them in my lap so the kindergarteners could come over and pet them. Sweet and fun. Magnethe was in the mood for scratches too. I scratched her behind her ears and around the horns and she was really leaning into it deeply. And when I stopped she pushed her head against me as if wanting me to keep doing it. Nice. She was busy keeping kindergarteners at bay too, though. She didn’t like when they all came swarming in to see her babies, so she was kind of chasing them away. And the kindergarteners would scream and laugh and run away. That was pretty much the reaction every time Magnethe came near.

When the kindergarten left, things quieted down a bit. A girl came over and sat on the bench with me. She liked the goat babies. By then Magnethe had wandered off to a safe distance, grassing on the hill leading up to the concrete building complex above. So the girl felt safe enough to come over. She liked the goat boy the most. Because the girl was being a little wild and scary. The boy was more relaxed. The girl asked me if I could lift them. I said I could. Then she told me to do it. The goat boy was hiding out under the bench at that point, so we had to wait for him to come out. But I did prove that I could lift a baby goat. And then I sat with him in my lap while the girl petted him. “He’s so soft and cute!”. Indeed. Then the girl told me to lift the mother. Hah. I had to give up on that one. I don’t think I will be lifting Magnethe anytime soon.

Maybe if I lift weights for a while, I’ll get there.

*Imagines the look on Magnethes face if you try to lift her, starts to laugh* Sounds like it was a wonderful day, cheers to many more like it!

  2. Desirée Says:

Sorry I’ve been awol. Been rather preoccupied – BUT today I finally passed my theory test! First attempt and only 3 errors and we’re allowed 5, so all was good. Driving test will probably be next week, but don’t worry, I shan’t be driving anywhere near your hood anytime soon ;)

    Sorry you’ve been poorly.

Still thinking of you every day! x

Don’t tell anyone, but I kind of like the bucky smell, too! The ear scratching is funny. Our pygmy goats do not like to have their ears messed with at all.

Now Snickers is a different story. She gets just like the boy goatzie and wants both her ears scratched. Her head will get lower and lower and her lower lip starts quivering. She’ll shake her head, then come back for more scratches.

Desiree: Congrats on your theory test! You probably won’t be driving in my area either. hee, hee

Kids are funny! Can you really lift Magnethe? Maybe with a sling lift they use to pull engines out of cars.

Katrine – Somehow I don’t think she would be very pleased!

Desiree – Congratulations! That is excellent. Maybe some day we can take a road trip. You never know.
do take the time to update you word collection some time too!

Debster – are donkey ears as floppy as goat ears? I don’t even remember. Well no ears could be as floppy as goat ears I think.
