Show And Tell
As promised I have some videos from the annual animal show at the playground.
youtube.com/watch?v=treyWAeN3pE. Video 1. Before the show. Per taking Magnethe to the goat fold while Hans and Grethe, and Plume, follows. He invited me to the animal show. And then some girls showed up. The girls who were going to present the goats at the show. So I try to help them out a little. And at one point one of the girls, Sara, Grethe’s handler, borrowed my camera and started filming. So there’s some good fun with that. Although I’m glad there isn’t a show every day. The goats were a little stressed at times. Especially when Sara tried to take Grethe out of the fold to walk around with her. Magnethe was left back in the fold and neither she nor Grethe were very happy about that. They baahed very loudly and Sara had to abandon that idea. The goats did get lots of nice attention and treats, though, so it wasn’t horrible or anything.
youtube.com/watch?v=1TmS6K2MBEw. Video 2. The famous poop lottery. Magnethe in the circle, with a bunch of kids wanting her to poop on their respective chosen numbers.
youtube.com/watch?v=e3W949dn9lE. Video 3. The goat presentation. Not a lot of action, mostly just the goats eating grass while the kids talk to the judge. And some tricks tried.
I don’t think there were as many people as there have been at previous animal shows at the playground, but the kids all seemed to have a good time. They always get very proud when they present their animals and get to talk about them. Very sweet.
Finally a video of my electronic video magnifier. The Looky+. Did I mention that it had arrived? Here it is: youtube.com/watch?v=c66rfkrTTvU. In action. With varying levels of zoom and colours. Forgot to show the freeze function, which basically works like a digital camera. It takes a snapshot of whatever is in the frame and freezes it so you can read it in your own good time. It’s quite a handy little thing, although it’s harder to read than I had hoped. Mostly because of my focus problems. I think if I get reading glasses it will be easier. But it does work well. Right after the surgery I said that with my old, normal magnifying glass I could read letters that I couldn’t before. But now that my eyesight has degraded a little again, I can’t read the letters anymore. But with the Looky I can. I couldn’t read a whole book like that, but for mail and labels and such it is quite handy. It’s just nice that I don’t have to have my dad read my letters for me.
He helped me buy a backpack today, my dad. We went to the shopping center around the corner. Got a nice one. I need one now that I can, hopefully, start to go shopping on my own more often. My back is not doing so great, so carrying bags around in my hands is not nice. But the backpack is good. And I didn’t need my cane for walking. And the summer has been very warm today. So there are positives all around.

Must be a world-wide event…we have “Cow pie bingo”. When the cow poops on a number and that’s your number – you win! Obviously easier to see when a cow poops than a goatzie. hee, hee

Katt – It makes you SOL buddy. Since I post a million goat videos. You’re the big animal lover, how can you not love my goats :/
I have no plans for fauxguitaring. But maybe I’ll drum you up a little something.
Debster – Yes, but the goats do deliver “lottery balls” !
Traci – It’s a spectacle!
