Captain Plume And The Goats Of The Future
Ï paid a visit to the goats today. The weather was surprisingly nice. There was a good deal of sunshine. And more importantly, it didn’t feel freezing out. Perhaps because I took my new winter coat out for the first time. It felt warm and comfy. Very nice. The hands were still cold, when the gloves came off. But it wasn’t too bad.
I thougth the goats were fooled by the new coat at first though. When I came up to the fence they didn’t come over to me. But I think they had spotted a dog or something. They were staring off in the same direction and Magnethe were doing her warning snort sounds. They seemed to be on guard. But soon enough Grethe came over to me. And once I went inside and sat on the bench they were happy to see me and did not seem to mind the coat. In fact Grethe went right to work on trying to tear it apart. That’s the danger of goats. I know wearing my new coat in their fold is going to get it chewed and muddy and so on. But what can you do? It’s a price I’m willing to pay.
As I was leaving Per came over and invited me to the annual christmas party at the playground. I told him that I couldn’t come. It’s just too much, still. And he understood that. I said that I was glad that I still got invited and perhaps next year. And hoped that they’d have a nice party. I’m sure they will. The times I have participated have been very nice. And I would like to go again in the future. If I feel up to it. I just don’t feel like it’s something I can do right now. It’s too hard. Even though I know they’d do all they could to help me and make me feel comfortable. Maybe next year yes.
After the goat fun I went to do a little shopping at Føtex, in the shopping center around the corner. I hate to be the nagging complainer costumer, but you’d think people would show some consideration towards others. Especially if the others are almost blind. There was a lady in front of me in the queueue at the cash register. And I don’t know what she was thinking. She had a big baby carriage. And she left it standing in her spot in the queue, even when she moved forward. She put her items on the belt and went to pay for them and all the while she left the carriage so I couldn’t step forward and put my stuff on the belt. Maybe if I had had perfect sight I could have gone around or pushed it forward or something. But being almost blind I thought perhaps it would not be a good idea to start rolling other people’s babies around. And then when she finally moved the carriage and I could get on with things, she had left her shopping basket in the wrong place. So instead of me putting down my basket at the designated place to unload my items I had to place it awkwardly on the belt where it’s not supposed to go, but I had to put it there temporarily so I could move her basket out of the way. And then when I had paid for my stuff and went to the end of the belt to pick up my items, she had taken such a long time and left the big baby carriage in another unhandy place so I couldn’t go where I was supposed to stand to pick up my items, so I ended up standing sort of to the side in the wrong place and trying to collect my items before the next costumer’s items started coming. It’s hard for me to tell what stuff is mine and what isn’t. So I really have to get my stuff before the next stuff starts coming. Grr,argh. Sorry. I had to vent about this. Even if I hadn’t been sight handicapped I still would have found that annoying and inconsiderate. Most people, when they see a person with a cane and a handicap emblem on their sleeve, they take extra care to be considerate. But this lady just seemed to not care.
Oh well. Not like it was a big problem. Just a minor annoyance.
Other than that all is as well as it can be.
Plume out.

ugh. Life seems so full of minor annoyances sometimes & even though they’re minor, when you add them all up, it’s overwhelming!
Glad you had a nice sunny day though =)

Clare – I’m never annoying, you should know that if you read my facebook :P
Traci – Yup, the trick is to not let the minor annoyances get to you and just enjoy the sunshine instead.
