Whither Christmas

There goes christmas for another year. Now we are in the eye of the storm, midways between christmas and new year’s eve. A moment of rest before we do it all again.

Christmas was quite nice. A merry little time, as it usually is. I felt a little stressed because of uncle Jens’s lady friend being there, but once the first nervousness was gone it wasn’t too bad. She seemed very nice and friendly. It was funny though, the first thing I did when I got there was run off to the bathroom. That is my old defense mechanism. I used to go to the bathroom once or twice an hour when I was working. Just to shut myself away and be alone. Safe haven.

It was just an impulse, silly as it was. Jens and the ladyfriend, whose name is Anny I think? My mother’s name is Anni so that’s amusing. Anyway, they went back to their hotel to change and freshen up I guess. So that gave me a little time to settle down and settle the nerves. And it was a nice little christmas after all. Not unlike so many others. Just some nice, traditional food and desert and presents. Disney christmas show on the telly. And then a taxi ride home. No snow this year, but it’s still not nice for me to walk around outside when it’s dark. It’s just easier to catch a taxi even though I don’t live too far away.

And so it goes. When I came back home I put on one of my presents. The R.E.M. (R.I.P.) collection. Great, great music. And I had a long and rambling and completely hilarious Facebook conversation with a couple of mates. Sort of an odd way to end christmas eve, but it was great fun. Thank you to all my Facebook friends, for being my friend, on Facebook. And thank you to Traci for making me a scarf for christmas! It feels really warm and compact and I look forward to trying it out on goat trips. We have actually had some really mild days. I’ve had the heat turned off, for christmas can you imagine it! But I think the frost is coming back now. So it’s back to thermal underwear and scarves and mittens.

Hope everyone had a nice christmas. And that you will have a nice new year’s too. Stay safe and have a good time. Merry you, everyone.

    Happy New Year, Plume!

Are you sure it’s “kittens” and not “mittens” you need to keep you warm??

Want to see picture of new scarf . . . with you in it!

Glad to hear you had a nice Christmas after all. Uncle Jens girlfriend couldn’t have been that scary, was she? I’m sure she was a bit nervous, too.

Did she like goatzies, too? Or did you have a chance to ask her?

  6. Plume Says:

Ann T Krist – Thanks for the song! Happy merry today, and next year too. Maybe the music never end.

Debster – Perhaps I’ll put mittens on the kittens! Wee little kitten mittens. Aw. Uncle Jens’s girlfriend was very nice. I didn’t get to ask her about goats, but I assume she likes them. Who doesn’t?! Happy new year!
