Return Of The Goats
2012 finally got goaty. I got to see the goats again, and it made me happy. As it always does. I’m always a little worried, though, when I’ve been away for more than a few days. And especially with the new year’s fireworks and all. I get paranoid that they won’t all be there to greet me. That someone will be gone. But no worries this time, four furry goaties were there to say hello. And it snowed. It didn’t last long, just a couple of hours. But I got to walk around in the falling snow and things got white briefly. So that was really nice. I liked that. Even though it was cold.
Mostly of course I liked the goats. As here seen: youtube.com/watch?v=vZzzFd8bzJI. Nothing exciting. But goats. I’m glad they’re all still doing well. And they will continue to provide me with happiness and a reason to get out of the apartment. Even when it’s cold.
They really do need to pick a name for the new girl, though.
Other than that there’s nowt much going on. I helped my dad make stamps. He is quite into the stamp collecting. And he found out that you can make your own stamps. So I helped him out with that. We made them on the Norwegian postal service’s website. Fancy Norwegian stamps. They proper work and all. Quite extraordinary. I almost feel like making some myself now. With goats. Although to be fair I don’t send much snail mail these days. In fact pretty much none. I just want goat stamps. But it was nice that I could help my dad with it. I took pictures of him. And photoshopped text. I get kind of frustrated with these things now, because it’s a lot more difficult for me to do because of my eyesight. Five years ago I could have whipped something nice up in a matter of minutes. Now I end up worrying about it all because it takes longer and I can’t tell if what I’m doing is good enough or not. But dad seems to like the stamps. We made some a week ago or so, without text. And they turned out good he said. Hopefully the ones with text will too.
And on Sunday it’s soup time. Bam!

It’s good to see your goatzies again. Magnethe was enjoying the scratches so much she had to show some teeth. Our John Boy will show teeth when he’s particularly happy with scratches.
We have more snow than you do. It snowed yesterday – maybe 5 inches, but we had lots of wind and drifting. The weather was a balmy 55 F at the beginning of the week and now it’s about 10 F (12.7 C down to -12.2 C). Too much of an extreme for me.
Stamp making. That must be fun. I take it you have to pay the postage ahead of time or something like that. I think you’ll do a fine job making stamps just as long as you don’t put your Dad’s head on a goat body! hee, hee

Did you get some chicken soup on Sunday? We made a pork chop and brown rice casserole with mushroom soup that was really good. Also had some biscuits with the casserole.
It was cool and windy today. Nice and sunny though, so the goatzies were out sunning. So was donkey. Might have had a little bit of snow that melted today, but it was still cool. Think we have six days out of 10 that we might have more precipatation.
Almost got to be in a sheep round-up on the way home from work. A farm that we always pass by had sheep in the front yard! Not a normal place for them to be. I went up to the house, but the owner wasn’t home. I shut the gate so no more woolies could get out and just then the owner drove up in his pickup.
So I imagine he and his border collie dog got all the woolies back into their pen. They were sure happy to be in the yard grazing on that grass, so they may not have gone willingly back to their barn.

Debster – The snow only lasted a couple of hours, then it rained away. But it was nice to have a little bit.
You do have to pay the postage for the stamps yes. And then some. But my dad seems happy with the results.
Did indeed have soup on Sunday. Mmm. Still have some in the fridge. I do enjoye it everso much.
I don’t think I’ve ever been in a sheep roundup. It sounds fun. If exhausting. Depends on how many sheep I guess. A handful of goats is enough for me.
