Got myself a haircut. Super short for the summer. To be honest it’s probably a little too short. I have had thinning hair since I was a teenager, I think it gets a little too obvious when my hair is this short. But oh well, I don’t care. I wear my cap every time I go out. And it feels nice and comfy. So that’s the main thing for me.

After the hair cut I went and spent some time with the goats. The sun broke free and I got a little spell of summery time. That was very nice. I do enjoy sitting on the ground with lazy goats around me. Relaxing in the sunshine. Here’s a picture of Bob and mama Magnethe chilling: plume.dk/pics/displayimage.php?album=38&pid=5496. And here is a picture of me hugging the buck: plume.dk/pics/displayimage.php?album=38&pid=5497. He is a sweet boy. He’s very strong and when there’s food or Bob around he can be quite forceful. But most of the time he’s really calm and easy to be around. Doesn’t mind being hugged at all. I hope he passes those traits on to his kids. I dreamt about him last night too. It was my birthday and as a present I got to have him at my house (my parents’ house actually) for the day. So that was good fun. The gift of goats.

In other news, my dad met the Danish queen. There’s a picture of it here: kongehuset.dk/regentparrets-haveselskab-pa-fredensborg-slot. He’s the one sitting just to the right of the queen. On the left of the picture. How about that? For an American that would be like sitting next to Obama, I think. Except EVERYONE loves the queen. Way more than any politicians. My dad is involved with an organisation that helps children from Greenland, and they were invited to this royal event type thing. So he got to talk to the queen. It sounds like it was quite a nice experience. We do have a friendly queen.

I get to talk to goats, though. So I’m good.

Wow! It’s not every day I know someone who gets to meet the Danish Queen. What an honor that must have been. Was your Dad really nervous about meeting her?

What kind of organization for children does he belong to? Must be fairly important to get the queen’s attention. Congrats to your Dad.

Although I’m with you, I think I’d rather spend some time with our goatzies than meet royalty any day. hee, hee

The goats and donkey were in the back yard this afternoon when I hung some clothes out to dry on the clothes line. I tried hanging them up high enough so they didn’t get “cudded” by curious goat or donkey mouths.

Snickers did try tasting the pocket of my shorts, so I had to rinse out the green marks before hanging them up to dry. Billy was intent on nibbling the shirt and shorts I was wearing at the time while Frankie rubbed his head up and down my leg. John Boy was content to stare at me and smile while I finished hanging up the rest of the clothes.

We had a small striped gray kitten show up from out of the blue last Saturday. He’s very friendly, comes when called, and the other cats detest him. He climbed up on my lap when I was “guarding” my drying clothes and kitty promptly went to sleep. I can’t image someone just dumping him off in our driveway and leaving, but can’t figure out where he came from.

I think we will call him Shadow since he likes to follow us around wherever we go outside. He was chasing his tail this evening when I watered some flowers. And I thought we were over having kittens climbing the flower trellises and digging in the flower beds. Silly little kitty!

Did the goats notice you had a new hair style? Our goatzies notice everything new – shoes, pants versus shorts, and hats. Guess they have to be alert so something doesn’t sneak up on them and have them for dinner. (And I don’t mean ask them out to eat on a date!) hee, hee

Debster – I’m not sure how nervous my dad was, but you have to be a little nervous when you meet the queen! It sounds like he enjoyed it a lot. The organisation is this one: http://www.fgb.dk/ although I guess you probably won’t get much from looking at that! But they work to help children frmo Greenland in various ways.
Aw Shadow sounds like a sweet kitty. Rumour is probably going around what a nice place you guys have. You should probably expect lots of animal visitors. Any day now a zebra will turn up at your front door and ask if you have any vacancies. Just you wait and see!
