Punching In Dreams

This is the goatlog. Here are the goats.

The alleating eye.

It was a cloudy day, but the sun came out. In this picture Mio’s little girl is pretty much standing right at the dividing line between shade and sunshine. Five minutes later and the sun will have rolled in and covered everything.

But there is always shade under the trees of course.

Me and her.

She fell asleep in my lap with her head tucked in under my arm. Preciously sweet.

Bob. He’s a big boy now. He got up on the bench with me and I pulled him down so he was sort of sitting in my lap. Per and some boys were working at the fence and when Per looked up he burst out laughing. “Bob, what’s going on? Aren’t you too big for that?”. It ws pretty comical. And sweet. I gave him lots of cuddles. “He’s always so cuddly with Lasse” Per said. I love Bob. He is Magnethe’s boy and he is my boy.

Picture taken through the windows inside the goat house. Mio and the little one went out in the rain while I was inside.

And the little girl decided that the fodder trough is her bed now. At least she didn’t pick the water bucket.

Lovely little one.

I am really loving her. She’s all the sweet and fun you’d expect of a goat kid. And because she doesn’t have any siblings to compete with for attention she is the apple of everyone’s eye.

I have been having a lot of fun with her. Here are a couple of videos. They are quite long with lots of fun and sweet stuff. But it’s mostly the same old same old.

She’s really starting to chew on things. A woman came and droped oatmeal on the ground. I fed the little one some individual oats and she did seem to eat them. I tried giving her a tiny bit of apple and she chewed on it for a couple of minutes and then it just fell out of her mouth without a dent in it. But she’s learning.

This was a nice day. Starting inside because it was raining. There is some filming through the window as the goats go outside. At one point Sigrid and a man came in to do some measuring because they’re going to do some reconstruction of the bird cages I think. Sigrid and the man were standing up against the wall and then Preben came over and went up on his hind legs next to them. It looked almost like 3 humans standing side by side. He stood there for a good minute almost I think, but I only caught a little bit of it on camera.

Later on the goats were taken outside to the sheep fold. I call it the sheep fold but we haven’t had sheep for years. Anyway, I like when all the goats are outside together. Mio and the baby have been seperated from the others for a while but now it’s just one big happy family. Apart from when Mio chases off Bob or Kamel because they get too close to the baby. Or the food. She will not tolerate that. We also finally get to hear the baby baah a little more. She’s a quiet one mostly. Maybe because she has no siblings to play with.

I like the one bit where Preben is up on his hind legs (again) and trying to pull down a branch while Kamel is standing next to him looking up at the branch wondering if he’s going to manage to get it down so she can get at it too. She still sticks with Preben a lot for protection.

You can see Bob jumping over the fence too. The last two times I’ve been there Preben has been the only one tied down. He seems surprisingly okay with it. I remember when Mads was tied down he always felt it was a great injustice and complained loudly. But Preben doesn’t seem bothered. Except when food is just out of reach. Mio stays in the fold with her baby and Kamel stays with them, at a distance. So they all stay put. Apart from Bob. Sometimes he will jump over the fence and go for a walk around premises to see if there’s any greener grass on the other side. Enjoying his freedom.

Good goat times.

I’m checking email and your blog at my parents house. Our computer is still in the shop. I miss it something awful!

Great pictures of the new baby. She needs a name though. I think I can tell she is growing bigger every time you take pictures of her.

We received some of the “Issac” rain from down south. Two and a half inches worth of rain and no wind or anything else bad like having a hurricane.

It may be a few days before I check in again depending if I end up at the library or at my parents’ house.

How are you feeling? Hope your sore throat is gone and you’re feeling much better.

Our computer is home (where it belongs). Hooray!

I was looking at your photos again tonight. They are so crisp and sharp – I can almost pick a piece of grass right out of the picture.

By the way, your grass is much too green. I’m envious, not to mention the goats . . . our grass is brown and has gone dormant because of such little rain.

Are you feeling better? Back to eating grass and drinking water like a normal goatzie? hee, hee

Debster – I’m glad you’re back with a computer! How did we ever live without one back in the dark ages? I can barely remember. I am feeling better now, thank you. A little tired but otherwise good. I thought my throat was starting to get worse again but I guess it was a false alarm. All good now. And good goat times. Glad you like the photos! I am enjoying my new camera. It has nice functions and is easy to operate (except when I accidentally set it to black’n’white!). And I like the HD video. So it’s all good. I’m sure the goats appreciate that I can show them off in glorious high definition now!
