The Last Christmas video

Just a little christmas card from Plume’s family. This is the christmas video. Scenes from our little, quiet christmas. It was requested. It’s not as good as the last one, though. Somehow having it in HD loses charm. But you can see a little of the Disney show, the preparations, the eating. Not many presents. Moving box christmas trees. The last christmas is in the old house.

Hope yall have had a merry time.

What a nice, quiet lovely celebration you all enjoyed. Good food and candles and “Bambi”. I’ve never heard Bambi speak Danish before – he did very well. I didn’t realize he was a bi-lingual deer.

On Christmas eve. we watched “A Christmas Story” with little Ralphie and his family. All Ralphie wants for Christmas is a Red Rider BB gun and he doesn’t think he’s going to get it since everyone (Santa included) thinks “you’ll shoot your eye out, kid”.

We also watched the Doctor Who special with the scary snowmen with teeth! My husband has always been a big Doctor fan. I’ve really just started watching it off and on for the last year or so. I really get caught up with Rory and Amy – that Amy is just a great character. You can count on her to jump right in and fight monsters or do whatever needs to be done. She’s brave and strong and a great role model. I want to be Amy Pond when I grow up!

The six of us were much louder than your Christmas celebration. We have much laughing/talking/giggling going on. I also like to disguise presents when I wrap them to add to the silliness.

We drew names for gift giving and my husband had Dad’s name. Dad wanted some gloves, so I stuffed one glove in the cardboard tube that’s left when all the toilet paper is gone! So Dad opens the gift (wrapped in tissue paper with bows tied on the ends of the tube) and gets – 1 glove! hee, hee

Then he opened another gift (that wasn’t the other glove also in a cardboard tube) and he was still wondering where his other glove was. He wanted a mouse pad for his computer, so since the mouse pad said it was compatible with any mouse, I wrapped a black rubber toy mouse in the present. Dad sure had a funny look on his face as he was opening that gift! He said: “I saw the tail first, then the mouse pad.”

I had my sister’s name, so when I wrapped her presents, I tied on little, brightly colored frogs. She goes to open a present and says “what’s this”?
“it’s a jumping frog” and then she threw it at me! I wasn’t expecting that and it landed on my sweater! My sister received multiple tiny frogs with the rest of her gifts.

We used to wrap up a small pink plastic dinosaur and give it to someone in the family for Christmas as a joke – it was always from Santa – and no one would own up to wrapping it. Then you might find the dinosaur in your lunch bag one day or under the covers in your bed or on the car seat. You just never knew where he’d turn up next. Someone hid him pretty good last time, as we haven’t seen that pink dino for a long while.

We are quite the silly bunch at Christmas time!

Debster – Yes, a nice quiet christmas celebration. Although to be fair my whole family is not as quiet as I am. I just edited out most of the conversation! But we’re not a loud bunch.
I am still watching the old Doctor Who series in chronological order. Although it’s been a while, since I have had a lot of current TV to catch up on. But I enjoy the old black’n’white doctors. I have no idea what’s going on in the current Doctor Whos, but itsounds like Amy Pon is a bit of a James Bondy type!
Haha I like your christmas wrappings. Sounds like you have fun with that. We didn’t get a lot of presents this year, I think all the packing for the impending move have gotten in teh way for present shopping. I did find the almond in the risalamande this year which meant I got a special present. That’s what you see me unwrapping briefly in teh video. Twas a couple of small marzipan bits. Yum.
Your dinosaur present reminds me a little of a thing they do at the playground, for the annual christmas party. They have a special, old, ugly pot that they give each year and whoever gets it has to display it somewhere in their home! And it’s such an ugly thing that no one wants to get that particular present! But you’re not allowed to hide it away, so it won’t go missing like the dinosaur! Hehe. Well, happy new year to you and the rest of the gang! I bet you’ll have some yummy eats. I’ll be having ham with the family. Probably another quiet celebration!
