Raking In The Pen

I knew I shouldn’t have jinxed it by calling it springtime! The sun decided to mutiny and take a few days off. Cold and grey. But luckily it’s back now. It’s been a splendid, sunny weekend actually. So NOW it’s DEFINITELY spring.

Your move, seasons.

Meanwhile, I did some yard work in the goat pen. I decided to get a rake and try to clean up the place a little. There’s been a big buildup of old hay all over the place. Layers on layers. The bottom practically fermenting in places. I thought, if there’s to be a chance of anything green growing in the pen then I’d better try and clear some ground. It was hard work, really. The rake things were sort of plasticcy and not very good. And I’m not used to using my body like that. It was sore for days after. I got about halfway done, maybe, on Tuesday. When I came back Thursday most of it had been finished. Nina told me that they’d had some kids help out clearing the rest. I’ll probably do a little polish up next week, but it’s looking much better. I don’t know how much green there’ll be, but at least I tried. I also continued the work on the wooden staircases. Yes, it’s a man’s life in the goat pen. Hard work. Haha, not really. And I love those goats. I don’t mind doing a little work to keep them happy and entertained. My heart grows a size or two when I’m with them.

Otherwise, not much to report. Mama will be making soup on my birthday, next Saturday. I can dig it.

And photos. We’ll start off with a bunch of Palle.

Surveying the scene.

Profile.

I love this picture. Funny perspective. His head looks about three times bigger than his body.

That face again, it’s Mr Palle.

Never get tired of him.

His newest thing is to try to push the cap off my face. He seems to quite enjoy trying to do that. Over and over.

He is the darlingest one.

Kamel at the fence.

And enjoying the hay.

I see you, Mia!

Back to eating for one, Mio.

Poke poke.

And a goatlog. Fun runnings and me doing yard work and suchthings.

And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.

    Happy Birthday dear Lasse,
    Happy Birthday to you!

Hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration on March 15th! Did you get your special pork and parsley potatoes dish?

Most of our snow is gone. Hooray! We’ve had very nice weather yesterday and today. But no reply is complete without me saying: BUT WE’RE SUPPOSED TO HAVE MORE SNOW ON SUNDAY!

Guess it will be June or July before I stop mentioning that four letter word – SNOW!

Thank you thank you! No pork for me, but mama’s soup. And that’s always the best. Good day it was, and as you’ll see in the latest blog entry I got a new goat friend!
I should have used a birthday wish on you not getting more snow! I’m pretty sure that’s how the weather works!
