Summer in April
Oh my. We had a lovely start to this week. Hot and sunny. It was upwards of 20 degrees at times. That’s summer. A little bit of summer in April. What a treat. I went and got a hair cut on Monday and for the first time this year I left the house without a jacket. Definitely T-shirt weather.
It’s just wonderful, sitting in the sunshine with the goats. Lazy, yawning, snoring goats. We had visiting kids too. I got to play tour guide for them in the goat pen. Did tricks with the goats, much to their delight. A couple of girls started calling me “goatman”. Goatman, what’s that one called? Goatman, can I give them this grass? Goatman, can I ride a goat? Lots of fun!
The weather has cooled down a little again now. More normal Danish spring weather. But I hope the summer will be back soon. It’s May!
I spent all Friday working on my computer. Windows stuff. It took a lot longer than I had expected. Succesful in the end, though, so I was happy about that. But then I got back on Facebook and saw that the playground had updated their page with a bunch of photos. And they had let the goats out of the pen. Must have been the first time this year. I was a little sad that I’d been sitting in front of the computer all day instead of being out in the green with the goats. But oh well, there will be plenty of green days ahead.
And here are photos.
I forgot this picture last week. I found a Shaun the Sheep toy in the goat pen. Sheep in the goat pen, that way madness lies!
Every time I go to get my hair cut I walk by this church. It’s such a nice and peaceful sight up on the hill.
Herman sitting in the playhouse.
Aahh, summershine. Sit back and bake.
Mia on the bench. I love the way she sits there.
Sif the Ewokdog enjoyed the sunshine too.
You’re still looking at me, right?!
And finishing with a couple of Palles.
And a goatlog. With all the sweet summertiming.
And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.

Shaun the Sheep! What a cute toy. Does Shaun have adventures with other barnyard animals?
What a pretty little church. Do you know what denomination it is and do they still have a congregation?
Hard to tell the difference between humans basking in the sun and all the other animals – goats and ewok dogs!
My husband went outside to see the animals later in the evening last night. He said John Boy was acting like a baby goat by twisting and turning and running through the pen. Then Billy starts doing the same thing.
Silly goatzies must be feeling good these nice warm days.

I haven’t actually watched Shaun the Sheep much! But I hope he gets along with goats.
I believe the church is.. christian. I can’t closer than that! I think I have actually been in it as a kid. For.. a marriage? My brother’s confirmation? I simply can’t remember.
I love when goats go silly. I’ve had my share of it this week already!

We had a lovely Mother’s Day brunch at my sister and her husband’s house for our Mom. Do you do anything special for your Mom? My sister made a brunch casserole with eggs, potatoes, and ham and cheese. She had waffles and muffins and we brought a big bowl of mixed berries and fruit and some mini blueberry bagels. Yummy!
We have been having thunderstorms yesterday evening and tonight. There was even a tornado spotted not too far away. It touched down a few times but only in a field. No one hurt and no damage to property. It sure rained hard and we had some small hail fall during the storm.
The goats and donkey headed for cover and didn’t reappear till it stopped raining. Then they were out grazing like nothing had happened.

Sounds lovely? I don’t really do anything for my mom, I must admit. I know I probably should. It’s just never been tradition. Next year I should try. These things don’t come easy to me.
At least there was no snow, right? Not even a little I hope. We’ve had a summery weekend. Forecast is looking pretty good. Summer is near.
