Falling Down

It hasn’t been the best week. Specifically the last part. On Thursday I was happily running along with Palle, playing our little game. Where I run and he gets excited and starts running and skipping along. And I completely forgot how blind I am and that I can’t see stuff on the ground ahead of me. Like the trashcan holder thing. I tripped over it and fell down with my chest on the asphalt. And I heard and felt it immediately. The bone crunching sounds of broken ribs.

Or bruised or bent or whatever. It’s the third time I’ve had bruised ribs in a year or two. This is the worst, though. Right in the lungs. It feels like. The two previous times the real pain started the day after the incident. This time it was immediate. And excruciating. I somehow managed to get myself up and got the goats back in the pen. That wasn’t fun, I can tell you. And I couldn’t open the sliding doors. It just hurt too much. I couldn’t move them an inch. So this might impede my ability to visit the goats. I’m not sure how that will go. And my birthday is on Tuesday. I plan to spend it sitting completely still. Completely.

Well, things are getting a little better. Because painkillers. Luckily they are working well. Bringing down the pain from “worst ever” to around “same as last time”.

The only thing I can think of that has been a worse pain was when the pressure in my eyes was too high. That was a different kind of pain. And one that I couldn’t escape. This pain here at least mostly stops when I sit still. It’s sharper, though. I could barely get out of bed Friday morning. The pain was so sharp and overpowering when I tried to sit up.

But there you go. Nothing to do but wait now and it’ll get better. So it goes.

In other news. I spilled diet chocolate milk in my keyboard and it died. I still hope I can revive it. This new replacement one is annoying. It’s so thin, like a laptop keyboard. I can’t just go and get any old keyboard, I need specialised ones because of my eyesight. Apparently I can’t get the old model anymore. Annoying. But okay. Life goes on and I’m still lucky in many ways. Let’s not forget about that. And let’s not forget about the goats.

And videos.

And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.

Happy, Happy Birthday to my favorite danish goat boy! Actually you are my only danish goat boy, but you are still my favorite!

Hope that nasty rib pain isn’t too bad. Time and rest is about all they recommend anymore. Hope you get to feel well enough to visit the playground. I know those goatzies will miss your visits.

Hee, hee. That was a funny picture of you on Mia’s blog. Are you the one on the left??? Just kidding. That made me laugh for sure.

You look a little like the singer “Pitbull”. Wouldn’t it be nice to have his money?

Thank you! Haha, I certainly wouldn’t mind some Pitbull money! I could probably afford a pizza or two. I went to see the goaties today. I’m still not in tiptop condition. But still gotta get some goat time to get by!

Mm mm. . . pizza! Sounds yummy. Glad to hear you were able to get out to see the goatzies. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
